We’ve actually been in steady decline since since 16/17 with our point tallies slowly diminishing ever since. This downward curve that has turned into free-fall has been brewing for years.

Poch couldn’t stop the gentle downward curve so what makes people think he’s able to stop free-fall?! It’s beyond me.

Not hysterical, just a fair overview using facts.
But wasn’t the downward curve because Levy didn’t let him replenish the side? We lost Wanyama and Dembele as effective pillars, not replaced. We ran Eriksen into the ground as our only creative player of note, no support.

I wouldn't say Matt Law was very reliable about Tottenham this summer, and after transfer window he thought this wasn't good window.
Isn't that working that if we sack Poch, we are paying his contract until he find another job, not 12.5 mil? Becuase it's pretty obvious he will find new club fast.
How much is his army of mates coaches being paid? Could just be one years combined to clear out

Quite a few parallels with Klopps last season at Dortmund.

Could just be a shrewdly inserted get out clause by Levy
I'd say ALOT of parallels with Klopps last season!

As many sensible posters have alluded to, this isn't a case of us turning on Poch calling him a shit manager, clueless etc - it's just a fact of management that you have a shelf life and i'm afraid his has expired in the minds of the players.

He'll move on and so will we.

The way I see it is that Levy would surely have had to have words with Poch regarding our form and Poch would have needed to justify to Levy the reasons we are not getting the required results with the squad we have and have given tangible solutions to how we can turn it around long term with a specific plan in January. Levy must surely agree that they're things that have to be put right which is why he is giving Poch the benefit of the doubt.

Otherwise I imagine the results would have proven too much. I also imagine that there is a limit to how far we can slide before action is taken before we reach January.

Only other thing I'd say is the only other reason I can see is if they're waiting for the bayern game to pass per Ornsteins info.

think it is somewhat answered if JJ is right - Levy is going to back the manager.
Very likely 4+ players out in Jan and probably 2+ in the summer (CE, TA, DR, SA, VW for certain and possibly JV - though i hope not - and maybe ED).
In Jan probably see Jack Clarke brought back and 1-2 purchases in the 20-30 million bracket, younger talent.
Further moves next summer.

no chance we do all that in January. None at all. I’d be surprised if there’s even one in and one out.

Poch was meant to be at the annual European coaches conference in Switzerland yesterday but didn’t go. There was an article about the conference on the Athletic today and they mention he usually goes but not this time. Significant I reckon.

Didn’t it say in the article he’d been at the training ground

He can't be swanning off to Toblerone land when his club is in the shit.

Matt Law is always spot on with Chelsea. Not so good with us. I’d wager he’s heard something, though.
Certainly there is something in the air of looking at a contingency here should Poch not turn it around post international break.

Whether it's a very real movement of thought from the board remains to be seen.
