He did well, but he is no RB.
A couple of times he didnt track players running into dangerous positions.
And a bit like Aurier, he looks like he could give away a pen at any time as they both like to dive in.

Did well today as cover, but not a long term answer imo

I've never worried about conceding a pen with Sissoko, in the few times he has played there.

He is not a RB but with a bit of coaching though he could become one. He seems to be a pretty adaptable bloke. Personally in if we play three at the back, he ought to be our WB.

1st half we we plop

the sending off galvanised us. And I thought we were very good second half. Worked for each other. Winks Sissoko Kane all ran their arses off. We needed that.

Even with all those injuries that he had suffered in the last few years, Lamela has come stronger and hasn’t shown any sign of being afraid of getting into tackles. I give him a lot of credit for that.
He has come back more mature. He doesn't seem to care anymore about showing off how skillful or creative he is. He seems to just to be happy to be playing and working for a team. He has always had that grit, but now he just seems to clearer understanding of the player he is, and that's not some super silky AM. But a tenacious team player. Credit to him.

the most annoying thing about that game was Auriers 2nd card. worse fouls committed went unpunished by both sides. Boufal could have been booked 4 times even for throwing the ball away, or preventing us possession by holding on to the ball or kicking it away. the thing is Bertrand cut across Aurier protecting his ground (buying contact) no difference to Kane v Newcastle or Arsenal.

anyway COYS a fighting performance, hope Kanes not done his ankle again, but least the WUMs might go missing till Tuesday night.

anyone in here complaining about the press, remember the press is energy-sapping, and we have a big game on Tuesday

His last post was we looked atrocious Come on @Primativ come back. Don't leave us hanging.

You don’t even deserve a response to that. Today didn’t convince me really, but the sending off makes giving a fair review of the game difficult. All that mattered was we won and we did. Yet to be convinced we’ve turned a corner.

Hopefully that result galvanizes this team moving forward.

Excellent result today given the two yellows for Serge. Lloris and that mistake is comical though made up for it in the second half, two cracking saves.

Sure, with a fine tooth comb people can find something wrong with the performance but considering the state of our football recently, ground out a good home result facing adversity.

I'm off out for a curry, enjoy your evenings folks.

Didn't look like a diamond to me. Son was mainly on the left, Sissoko on the right with Eriksen behind Kane.

Shame really because I think we would have absolutely battered them. Eriksen looked well up for it.
Agree - sending off doesn’t happen and we romp to win. As others have said though maybe this result was better for team morale overall. Either way great win and important for Poch.

Yeh, it was soft but Aurier has to know better there.

The bigger is if the ball went out. Now before VAR I wouldn't really care. But if things like offside calls are factual decisions that need to be ruled on, surely the ball being in and out of play is to. Maybe there are issues, sending offs are supposed to be reviewed but maybe not in the same way goals are? The system is so bizarre at the moment, with what should be reviewed or not, or what is clear and obvious (apparently very very little, based on the amount of penalty shouts ignored, or soft pens overturned) or what isn't.

Fantastic result in the circumstances. And more importantly for me, they showed they still have some character and fight in this team.

Good finish from Kane, and thought before the sending off, it was Ndombele's most influential game imo. Albeit for just about 30 mins.

Horrendous sending off. Thanks Serge for the reminder of why we desperately needed another RB in the summer. Thought the first yellow was actually a bit harsh, but the second was fcking brainless.
Didn't think I'd see anything worse than that today, until our captain decided to try a Cruyff turn on the goal line.

But a huge result after all the crap of the last couple of weeks............COYS!!

Didn’t see the match but a win down to 10 men whilst scoring a goal and creating a couple of good chances too speaks volumes about the spirit and mentality. Agree with others that this results means more than 4-0, especially after a poor couple of weeks where our spirit and mentality have been questioned.

Just hope we’re starting to turn a corner.

I think we saw today some class play from Ndombele. Once the players realise he actually thrives on the ball being played into him when has pressure, we will really see his class as that's what he is so good at. This will only come if we play him truly centrally. Feed it in to him when he has someone right up his back, slowly starting to do it.

Thought that was really gritty today, down to ten and gifting them a way back to pick up the 3 points will do a lot for this team.
Once his fitness improves to keep it up over 90 mins he’ll be awesome

Yeh. he is still adjusting. But you can tell he has real quality. I think we do need to give him the freedom to get as close to the box as possible. Not just because of his ability to strike the ball but because he really tries to play in Kane.

Ruminating on the game whilst waiting for my train to Harlow, all trains are delayed so God knows what time I'll get home.
Aurier didn't deserve to get sent off their player cheated and got him sent off I fucking hate Southampton and would really love to see them relegated, oh and we were fucking magnificent today.
