It’s not looking good. Starting to see why we would want Mourinho here, a proven winner - tactical master - and admirer of Tottenham. It’s looking more and more inviting. Have to act quickly tho, ZZ’s having the exact same trouble at Madrid as Poch here. I also think Poch would struggle with that over there too ie lack of intensity from the players.

Can you really imagine Mourinho working harmoniously with Levy?

The state of the club considering how we looked a couple of seasons ago pochs brave new world etc and now look at us.

Imo the book was a turning point. I don't know if it was revealing too much publicly, but it feels like that triggered a change in the squad.

Poch won't get his move to Madrid now

Yep. Did the same thing when Redknapp was here. As I’ve repeated many times in different threads, the best time to invest in the team is from a position of strength.
Completely agree. Imagine if we'd brought in a top signing instead of Saha and Nelsen. Levy has a real penchant for letting us down at the decisive moment.

Conveniently ignores the reasons why Mourinho would be a terrible idea and why Poch is the right man but ok.

I know Levy about as well as you.

Jol and Redknapp haven't done for us what Poch has. If we sack him now it'll look like a knee-jerk reaction to the first run of bad form we've had under him. What kind of message will that send out to the next manager? We're not Real Madrid. We can't just sack a manager and get the next big name whenever we want.

I also think the a lot of the players futures are tied to his. Lloris hinted in the past that he'll go when Poch does and I think a few other big name players will join him.

You are generally right. But how long can this run of bad form be? Poch took us high but we can't allow him to take us to medicore again. We were poor second half of last season. That's like 18 league games. No one was saying about sacking him then. The message was clear: we have clear pre season, new signing, time to step up. It's 7 games this season and we are playing even worse and only won twice!

Still comes down to Levy not being prepared to pay for players that improve the squad. Yes he spent money, but on potential & no one that actually improves the team.

It all depends who's available at the time doesn't it. Obviously :D

Personally I'd put a large chunk of wedge on Eddie Howe being Levy's choice but if available you couldn't write off Mourinho as an option if we can't get him. Or maybe Tuchel, or even that Norwich guy.

Speaking for myself I have no idea who I'd want, I'm clueless, I didn't want Pochettino and voted for De Boer or whoever it was, that's how much I know :D

I think that has been done many times over, but let's not blame those two for anything that happened.

Saha scored more open play pl goals than bigger, more expensive strikers have before and since

If we somehow ended up without Poch I would like to see one of:
- Rodgers
- Ten Haag
- Marco Rose

Not realistic:
- Simeone
- Tuchel
- Ancelotti

I fear Poch is done. I think he feels, like Eriksen, that he has somehow outgrown the club. I think they will both be in for a shock down the line.

All of the moaning is becoming tiresome. If he has a problem with the squad he should keep it to himself. His comments will have done nothing but damage team spirit.

Yes, but the new stadium, where we were 20 years ago, being careful what you wish for and the grass not always being greener outweighs all of that. Our gratitude must last decades. Except with managers of course :cautious:

It's such a pity how things have turned out as Pochettino has done wonders for this Club. Something poisonous is running through the Club at the moment and things have never been the same since the rumours of Pochetttino to Utd.
