Are the players and manager too comfortable?
Some of the players clearly don't give too much of a fuck and in some cases some of them have nothing left to give - not sure why he (Poch) hasn't turned to the youth we do have, in some cases I can't see why it would be any worse.

He's been backed as well. Got his players. No excuses this year
Only one of them available today though so if they are relevant that is an excuse. Bloody shame after we went two up, still think offside was too close to call if you don't apply the same degree of scrutiny to when it left the foot of who played it, I have argued that before and will continue to do so even if it is in our favour. It would also have been nice if Madison had injured himself minutes before the goal not minutes after.
The disallowed goal changed the game and we didn't have the subs to make the difference in the end.
Leicester are a good side this season and will take a few scalps, not in the next month of course with Madison injured.

It’s just all so predictable and pathetic. We are so weak mentally still. Top four? Maybe. We got lucky last season to grab it after the dog shit second half of our domestic season. Will we be so lucky again?

Unbelievable, the only weak mentality around our club is in this thread.

Every time we lose, it's bottle, its mentality and its a thousand other reasons on top, in fact today, according to a bloody lot of you in this thread, VAR cost us and the referee cost us, how strange that after the game finishes it's suddenly not that, its our weak mentality or bottle. What a fucking fairytale.

The majority of those players have shown mentality plenty of times but no, fuck that, we lost so its 'bottle', when we show some nads its not possibly that we actually do have bottle, its written off as 'lucky'

I’d say it’s pretty even the amount of games we’ve won or lost over recent times because of our team’s mentality. Don’t let one Lucas winner paper over anything.

Just literally sitting here now wondering why Wanyama for Sissoko. Wanyama has one knee and we can’t even sell him because nobody wants him. We have Dier and Skipp. Why Wanyama Poch. If Sissoko was on he would of blocked that Maddison hit. If Wanyama tried to block it his knee would shatter.

It's not like Winks was struggling. Why shove him out wide and put Wanyama into the middle? This one is all on Poch.

Great goal by Kane, however, his general play throughout the game was poor. Have the players lost their respect for Poch and not playing towards the managers plans? We lost three precious points today and most probably we will drop to seventh or eight in the table now. At present, does not look too bright.

Let’s not get carried away. It’s a disappointing start the season and a quick realisation that top 4 will be tough. But this form we are in is partly a consequence of buying no one last season. It creates stagnation and it will take a while to fix. I expect we will be stronger in the second half of the season. But this blaming of Poch who has massively over achieved us silly
He's over achieved yes, certainly. But some of this stagnation is down to him too.

Secondly, he's bringing Wanyama on, a player who can't get about the pitch anymore, we then lose the game from there. Anyone who has watched him over the last two years will tell you he's done, he's broken. Yet Poch brought a him on to firm up our midfield.

Meanwhile we have a sprightly 18 year old on the bench who has shown progress in the summer and would surely have done better and he doesn't use him?!

He's got a lot right has Poch, but he's making more and more stupid decisions. Sanchez at RB, being indecisive about Eriksen so just sticking him on the bench and now Wanyama.

Once you start to make too many poor decisions the players start to question you. He's got to be careful.

If it wasn't for that shitty decision we'd probably have won that and I thought we were better going forward today but I can't offer up excuses for some stupid decisions that may have cost us the points today.

Poch’s management didnt lose us that game. We lost that game because we are mental midgets. Always have been. Always will be.
Surely that should be in the manager’s resumé though? Look back to last Xmas and you’ll see a team flying, without new signings. What happened?

8 points from 6 games, even accounting for City and Arsenal I don’t see that as good enough. I know we often start slow and last season we were all having a meltdown around this time about finishing outside top four but this feels different. Leicester were not good defensively, we should have won, Son and Kane could have both had two. We constantly opened them up on the counter. I am so baffled by our subs, Lamela was our best attacking player, again, and he gets subbed for our most out of form player. Baffling. I know people will complain about VAR but that’s just not a good enough excuse. We both had a goal ruled out by it. I actually feel like Poch is out of ideas and doesn’t really know what to do, I also think it would have been better for the team if Eriksen had left in summer, assuming he doesn’t want to stay. I have no idea how Poch will set up next, 4231, 41212, 433, 3421. Again I don’t understand what style of football we even play anymore and Kane doesn’t even play striker anymore. This feels like a huge task to sort out this mess for any manager. Obviously injuries haven’t helped and, of course, things could look a lot more positive in a month or two. And being fair, there was some lovely movement between our front three in the first half. But way too much wrong with this performance again for me.

It's the rules of the game, do you want offside to be removed from the game? In actual speed from the angle of the game he looks offside.

that's not what i am talking about , VAR referral has removed any instant joy or emotion from the moment

Gonna put this out there cos it's raw BUT

I'd take the short-termism of a Mourinho. Might win something. What are we building to under Poch? Nothing.

Disgrace of a VAR decision, when that close VAR should fuck off, they were not sure where to draw line, no science behind it. That said our pathetic defence again conceded two goals and could easily have been more.

Why is it a disgrace? Don’t get when people/pundits say this. He was offside, by an elbow or 5 feet it doesn’t matter. The rules are the same for both sides

We can't be making excuses anymore. At the start of the season there was every reason to feel confident that this was going to be the season we proved we were a genuine top 4 team with every chance we could win some silverware. The results and the performances don't lie. This season so far, for whatever reason, the team has underperformed to expectations. Unless there is an immediate improvement by a run of victories, it is hard to retain any hope that it will all come right in the end.

Poch lost the players when he put Kane straight back into team at Burnley.

We've lost the art of wing play.

Fucking hate this system, we've got fuckall points since we've started playing it.

Son and Moura are not strikers FFS

We’ve lost the wide midfielder altogether.

The formation makes absolutely zero sense.

Our narrow midfield three when defending our forced to track out to cover. Now a CM is wide. Leaves us exposed to quick switch and worse with quick attacks means teams are 2v1 on our fullbacks.
We are not good enough to have three up front or one trying his best to cover all over and two up.
Attacking we have to rely on fullbacks to create. Regardless of how good they’re not attackers. And at least nowhere near Rob and Taa at pool.
And even if that happens we have three players in such a small space
Also means Kane ends up dead and wide trying to find the ball.

Lei didn’t sit back like Newcastle today so we can’t even use that excuse
No win away since January.
That is mid table at best.

And to be honest it feels like watching midtable

Plus I don’t think there is a contented happy player out there at the moment.
