Pretty relaxed about this. If we don't sign him then Rose doesn't go.

It would be a blow for long term squad building but there's still a small chance we can pick him up for compensation next summer. Giovani Lo Celso is the transfer we really need to secure before the deadline, whether it's him or a similar player.

My worry is that we'd sell Rose regardless if the right offer came in. That would just be typical us.

Just like Grealish...

Grealish was completely different. He was willing to re-sign w/Villa. No indication that Sess is willing to do the same with Fulham. Last year also taught him that moving is the best thing for his career at this point.

When Levy deals he makes sure the guy on the other side knows he will walk away from the table. If a deal falls through, we’ll all be here acting like the next deal is just as important. There’s always more players.

If this falls through i wonders what the reason is. Because we wont meet their financial demands? Or the players?
I agree we shouldnt pay stupid money, for any player, but i get a feeling that Levy hasnt learned anything. We desperately needs to strengthen.

I would guess that Fulham are asking silly money, knowing that keeping him for a season could help them get into the PL (£100m+ windfall), and if an EPL site snapped him for free, they'd still get £20m+ in tribunal perhaps.

“Why haven’t we signed him yet!”

Oh, because Herc is suggesting that Fulham want a deal including a couple of youngsters and more than £30m - which is pretty steep for a player entering his last year of contract.

And if we pay up, how would that affect Lo Celso? Would we still have the funds without selling (which we can’t seem to do)? Would Betis be more minded to stick to their price rather than reduce it as the deadline draws nearer? Or raise it for the 3rd time after we agree to it?

Get him on a pre contract in Jan, and give Fulham nothing. Keep Danny Rose for next season and buy Lo Celso/resolve Eriksens long term future - I would be very happy with that.

He isn't worth £40 mill and two players, not after the season he's just had. He's injured (supposedly) people jumping up and down about a transfer that they can only judge on the details offered up, everyone's an expert at this time of the year.

Wouldn't be nothing - they'd still get a wedge in a "development fee" or whatever they call it

Waiting out and looking to pick him up in the summer once his contract expired is how we played the Barkley situation, how did that go again???

Sess is propably getting bored with us, If it doesn't materialize now, wouldn't blame him for looking elsewhere come january. I mean this has been dragging out for long.

As much as I would like to sign him for potential, doubt he will have an instant impact, so makes sense to hold out for a better deal, as long as we don't lose him.
