We belatedly replaced one of our most important players while letting go two first team squad members (both seemingly without any intention to get replacements) and are looking to get rid of more.
We are weaker than last season with a week left to go.
First off, the point was that this window is not like the last two, we've broken our transfer record and gotten our number 1 target in already, that's a entirely fair reason for people to have more faith in Levy now that we did last year.
How was Dembele one of our most important players last season? He only played in 10 league games and only 6 of those for longer than 45 minutes. I don't know if Ndombele will be better than he was last season but replacing someone who only played 10 games with someone who can play 30+ does not make us weaker at all in my eyes.
As for Trippier, I'm sure that either Foyth or KWP will have a better season than he did last year, I wanted him dropped for one of them last year during his awful form and I'm happy that it's happened now.
Llorente was a nice option but realistically how much is he going to play this season? He's 4th choice behind Kane, Son and Moura for that position and if Poch really wanted him to stay then we'd have offered him the wages he wants.
And lastly you said it yourself, there's a week left in the transfer window. We have always done our business late, what's the point in getting upset about the state of our squad when we're still actively trying to bring players in?
