All of our top 6 rivals have (and are) facing issues to some extent.

Don't see that at all.
Man City - done with their business early as always
Liverpool - don't think they are even looking at buying anybody, certainly not as a starter, they got their shit in order last season, whilst we dawdled and reaped the benefits
Chelsea - Can't buy anyway, but have lots of new players anyway they can use.
Arsenal - Seem to be identifying and getting.

As I said before it is only Levy and Woodward that seem to try to play the market this way, and invariably fall short.

Chelsea have signed the same amount of players as us and they have a transfer ban:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I think united will get what they want! It seems Bruno Fernandes, Maguire very close and also the Dybala swap with lukaku could also happen..... Woodward will spend the money and over pay on some of them

We've got to sign Sess, Lo Celso and Dybala even if Baldy has to plead with Uncle Joe for a 50 million pound loan. Otherwise come next summer, the whole team collapses with Toby, Verts and Eriksen all on free transfers and Pochjust walks.

Tell that to our fans who desperately want us to have had Lo Celso and Sessegnon done by now despite the former only returning to training today and the latter carrying an injury.

You can be as facetious as you please, but you've failed to provide any evidence of other clubs breezing through their transfer business without fail. All of our top 6 rivals have (and are) facing issues to some extent.
Stop viewing this through the lens of this window only. There is a 5+ year history of Levy failing to land top targets and “goal posts moved” which is code for Levy never coming close to selling clubs asking price. To simply ignore that history and think things have changed for this window where these moves will get done is naive. Problem is, there will be huge ramifications for the club if Levy can’t deliver including the possibility of losing an all time great manager. So people can spare me the goal posts moved bs as every major club operates under the same tactics and conditions and gets shit done.

I've been on a rant nearly every day in regard to our push for more signings or the lack there of, but quite honestly this really doesn't stand up after landing Poch's number one player at a record deal for the club for him to go on a pre season tour ...

If you wanted to make the point that the squad needs further reinforcements I would agree, instead you've gone with the cookie cutter rant of the previous 18 months - change the macro mate.

Especially when we go and announce a huge deal with AIA for over 300m during the transfer window
Flip side is the Betis top man saying they needed to sell to be able to have Fekir join and to strengthen the squad. Baldy has form, but Betis opened themselves up to be fucked over a barrel by being so fucking stupid in their own comments toward the press.

Since that point, it's been them trying to save face - what's annoying is how long this is now dragging on for and the fact that people feel that we've been here before with a shite outcome.

I have a feeling this will get done towards the end of the window and will see Eriksen leaving. Perhaps we will pull off a big name or biggish name forward signing as well, but that would be irrelevant in terms of our midfield options. Last summer when we still had Dembele and Eriksen of course, we still clearly needed an extra creative force, and arguably now also a DM, though that seems to not be on the cards at all. But the talk was Lo Celso was independent of Eriksen, and if Eriksen did go then there'd be at least someone else in to replace him, Ceballos or whoever was discussed at the time. Even if Eriksen stays and somehow we get someone like Dybala, we still need Lo Celso or else there's still a gap or two further back. This chap or someone similar to him I think could be pivotal. I just hope we can get it done. No chance we sort everything out this window, we knew that from the start. The bigger picture is looking over the next two windows, Jan included even if it's just setting up deals, but we must sort some positions out or we will just be getting further and further behind.

Every single summer people wet the bed that we’re doomed if we fail to sign x, y, or z, yet every following season we end up just fine, usually with progress having been made.

I’ll be massively disappointed to not land Lo Celso (or equivalent) and not best pleased if we don’t see Sessegnon arrive, but it really won’t be the end of the world. As our line up today shows, even with a few seasoned regulars absent, we have quality and we have depth.

I really cannot see us making three more signings let alone big money signings. I think this extra number 8 midrifeler and Ryan from Fulham are the best part of £150 m investment including wages etc so I cannot for the life of me see how we would then go into signs another “big name”.

I guess the problem is they need money but they probably won't have many opportunities to sell a prized asset like GLC and to further complicate it they've got to give a big chunk to PSG.

So maybe they want to roll the dice until selling their prized asset gives them a good return and actually cover the money they need?

Do we have a clear alternative for GLC? That seems to be the problem as it was last year with DeLigt and DeJong. We waited all window trying to get them and then when it was clear it wasn't happening it was too late to do anything else.

Both sides now are seemingly dragging this out waiting for the other to blink. That's fine I guess but who is going to get hurt more if neither side blinks? If GLC is who Poch has identified and there is no one else to move onto, then Betis has leverage too. That's what is a little worrisome as we approach a week or so left in window.

If this somehow doesn't get done and go into next summer with Eriksen and Toby leaving on a free along with a 32 year old Vertonghen, a 30 year old (I think) Sissoko, and a 30 year old Rose as key members of the squad, I can see why Poch would be quite upset.

I completely agree and I think this is why all of us thought it would be so simple to get this deal done and to follow up with the ITK accounts saying we have agreed it twice and then it’s moved there is nothing to say we agree to the next one and they don’t try again

I wish the white knights that feel the need to go into every thread and calm the apparently hysterical masses would just shut the fuck up sometimes. We're allowed to have reservations, fack off.

Yes, I didn't expect that to be in addition to Lo Celso, certainly not without Eriksen leaving, but rather I was highlighting how as long as we don't have any major outgoings from this point, Lo Celso will probably cover us, besides perhaps a sneaky right-back or 'fourth choice' centre back to allow Foyth to solidly move to right back. But Lo Celso is key I feel, or somehow similar to emerge from the shadows late in the window. I think a lot of nerves will be settled with this signing more than any other.

You need buyers - bar a tenuous link Ath. Madrid there is no one else near their valuation of the player - they backed themselves into a corner and now they seem to be fucking about - much to our chagrin.

I hear you but we dont want to be fine, we want to win trophies. Repeating this every summer isn't leading to trophies so surely something has to change if we have any intention of winning them.
