Pretty sure one of top tier European clubs would have been interested in him for the rumoured fee he is going to China for if he had been prepared to accept a pay cut from his rumoured £600k a week before tax.
You may well be right but at the moment, we just don't know.
I just think it's a bit harsh the he's being labelled as a money grabber, when we don't know any facts.
Just trying to look at it from another point of view.

You know what - fuck him and fuck anyone who takes the Chinese sport washing blood money these days. The State is literally moving an entire people into "re-education camps". There's just no excuse for being part of that shit.

You can't move for Oil slaving nazi shit these days. JUST FUCKING STOP IT.

End rant.

Whether true or not some of the reports confirm we were interested but he proved too expensive. If that’s the case then surely the likes of Dybala would be classed as within our affordability model? I know we’d have to be creative in the sense that there will be a fee and wages as opposed to just Bale’s daylight robbery wages but adding him (and Lo Celso) would sort out our creativity and forward line for years to come. The only issue for the remainder of the window and subject to Rose leaving would be strengthening our piss poor full back options.

How do we know that his agent hasn't been trying to get him in at another Euro club but no-one wants/can afford him - even if he was to take a salary cut? Meaning that his only option of playing was to go to China.

How do we know that Poch didn't want him and relayed this to Levy, therefore Levy made no attempts?

I don't think United wanted him as they are trying to avoid any more Sanchez situations, maybe Bayern were not interested in a 30-year old? PSG? They need Neymar off the books first, and even then they seem more keen on Coutinho/Dybala/Pogba.

He could be moving purely for money but I think it's only fair on him to consider that his options may be severely limited. Alternatively, no professional wants to spend years been told to train with the reserves or stay away from the training ground or working with a coach who clearly doesn't like/want you.

On a footballing perspective it's a shame, hate to see the world's best go play in a league in which they are clearly way above.

We don’t know the facts but would you rather stay at Madrid, earn an obscene amount of money for simply chilling in a beautiful city, or go to China and earn a frankly ridiculous sum of money but at the expense of moving your young family to an alien culture and way of life, and playing football at a Fisher Price level. Yes it’s more money but really, he’s never going to be hard up... he’s got more money than sense.

Makes no sense. Obviously money must matter to him more than playing football at the highest level. Its like taking a pay cut was completely unthinkable.
Was taking a pay cut an option? He can only go to a club who will pay the transfer fee! If say Man Utd and this chinese club both had bids accepted and he chose China then yes call him a greedy twat but until we know the full details let’s hold off on the money is Bales motivation comments!

To be honest whatever the reasons behind this, or your views of Bale and the Chinese league, £1m a week is going to make anybody seriously consider it.
That is a fucking ridiculous amount of money.

Only a 3yr contract. Means we can still hope and be disappointed in 2022 too.

Im probably wrong but I cant see Bale going to China
He couldnt learn Spanish in over six years so has got no chance of learning Chinese
In Spain or England there are great golf courses they are few and far between in China and who would he play with?In Spain he could ship his mates and family over n two hours to spend the weekend with hima nd his kids cant do that in China
Massive climate and diet differences gets freezing cold in winter.
Not a great environment to bring up young children
The difference between 600000 and 1 million a week after tax is not the be all and end all as he doesnt need the money anyway.
Would be far better to stick two fingers up at ZZ and tell him that he will sit on his bum until RM compensate him to make it worth his while to join a club of his choice which I suspect will be in England .

I think you're wrong.

That's pretty much what I said in my post before the one you've quoted.
He'll earn enough staying at RM and not have to move his family, but he may really want to leave and £1m per week is sure going to make the upheaval easier.

It's a shame for European football, to be losing a talent like Bale, but I can't blame him for taking an offer like this.

Disappointing. He will never be talked about as a top 5 player now.

Indeed...whoever you are, whatever your trade whether it be in sports, movies, music and whatever you are worth...£1m a week is something you must seriously consider.
