I’d think a lot less of him if he goes China, would smack of pure greed at this stage in his career.

He should be able to secure a move to many a top club who could pay him perfectly reasonable wages.

Yeah, setting up generations of your family for life, what a monster

He could easily set up generations of his family for life on 100,000 grand per week I’d imagine...

No-one needs in the region of 500,000 to 600,000 grand, it’s obscene.

100,000 grand per week is obscene really too but seems to be new lowest rate.

That’s not a couplet. Come on, man, show us the poetry behind the name

Take two.

He was the son of a coal miner and now he’s off to China ??

A career almost finished, a hairline diminished - what could be fucking finer.

Goodnight (that’s not part of this amazing body of work).

Coming soon - Rikki’s book of Poems. ?

£100k per week over an average 15 year career would net you in the region of £40million after tax. More than enough to set up several generations of your family.

@jay2040 so you think Bale needs 500,000 to 600,000 grand or that 100,000 grand per week is not obscene then.

LOL...

Honestly, I loved Bale for Spurs. But a lot of the deflecting of blame towards Zidane or Madrid fans has been somewhat ignoring the fact that it does, from an outsider prospective seem that Bale doesn't particularly care about how his football career will pan out.

In Madrid fans and Zidane have been overly harsh on him but it isn't invented out of thin air. The reality is that he has not been showing himself to be fully committed to the idea of what it means to play for Real Madrid that fans demand. This alone would not cause me to have serious doubts about him at Spurs, as Real Madrid are a particularly demanding institution that require players to put the culture of the club above everything else.

However, I recently saw a 'teammates' video with Defoe, who explained how he would often refuse to train the day before the game under AVB, because he didn't feel like it. This kind of hints at the logic of Bale, under AVB it might of worked but under Poch it wouldn't fly. For me Bale clearly thrives at being the centre of attention and needs to feel loved and cherished, but I also do hav doubts about how commited to football he really is. Going to China for me woudn't be a surprise, but rather a confirmation of what Bale's attitude is believed to be in Spain.

Unfortunately, it appears that Bale might well be more into what football brings him than what he can bring to a team. Now, from a personal point of view I hold nothing against him. Ultimately, I work for the money and benefits not for a love of the job. But, from a footballing perspective were he to move to China it shows to me that he simply is not in the mental position where he would really contribute to a Pochettino Tottenham.

If thats the case then no great loss, and good luck to him. It's only a shame from a footballing point of view because he should have been much more.

I agree. The fact is he isn't a Tottenham supporter. He wasn't even from our academy I don't think.
He has to do the best for his family.
He cant have real passion for Tottenham.
The only way he would take a cut to come to Tottenham was if he wanted to win the CL with us and came for a season and that could be a goer if he had any passion for us.
Let him Go and be well.

Tonight’s reports are that he will earn nearly 1 million PER WEEK

He will earn in one week the annual salary of 10 life saving surgeons on UK rates

Or one Bale is paid the same as 520 surgeons.

Who would you miss more

It is utterly obscene

It never seemed like a target that made sense for us. Paying big money on a 30 year old with a history of injuries isn't what we do.
I'm just glad he's not coming back to the PL to play for one of our rivals.
