This would be an exceptional signing but as others have said, I think the chance of him signing is very slim.

The massive advantage we have if we are indeed interested is Poch! That man is a genius and he clearly has an auraro about him that attracts players to the club. He is infectious and players clearly want to play for him. Add to that the Argentina link and it really does increase our chance.

Saying all of that, I still believe this is a play from the club to force Betis hand but if a deal could be done where Eriksen moves to Juve and we get Dybala then it's something we should 100% be looking at.

This could be an exciting two weeks :)

Jj has since deleted his reply to it, if not already mentioned. Sure there’s obviously a good reason.

Asked polish journalist about Dybala to Spurs, he knows Paulo personally and he is friend with Mariano (his brother and agent). Told me that he is still on holiday to next week, and will tell me more when he will return to training (y)

It's a strange smokescreen if it is one, surely a Bruno Fernandes or someone valued in the same ball park as GLC would make more sense.

"Betis, either you accept our 60mil bid you only get 80% of or we'll go and buy another player for 100"

"Sorry RM and Gareth, we'd love to do the deal but we can't afford the wages, now we are off to spend 100mil on a different player"

So why release the story? Sorry that doesn't make sense to me and happy for it to be explained (seriously)

1. Maybe the leak was unauthorised - hence JJ deleting the tweet and everyone with sources now hearing there's nothing in it.

2. Or maybe it was indeed a bit of poker with Betis, who have already spent a fair chunk of GLC cash on Fekir and his high wages, in the hope that they'll accept a lower fee rather than miss out.

Okay that makes some sense.

I'm going to go for Drop Zone 2, Ben.

I doubt spurs would leak something that hasn’t been ‘authorised’ to both our following journalists

I agree, the source of the leak suggests that it's something the club wanted to hit the press for one reason or another. It's the opposite of our MO.

That said, it's weird that JJ and Gards said it was genuine last night, before deleting tweets/changing tune this morning.

What day are we gonna get the "we tried and the player did like Poch but ultimately club x came in and offered more money" ITK?

I’ve seen a lot of these posts about how it can’t be a move to force Betis hand because Dybala is more expensive. Haven’t reached end of thread yet so don’t know if it’s been addressed, but have to disagree entirely with that notion ...

It’s not like our stance on prices is based entirely on convincing a team how much or how little money we have in our piggy bank.

We have a figure we believe that Lo Celso is worth. We aren’t willing to budge much beyond that. We have a figure that we believe Dybala is worth and it’s probably more than Lo Celso for a variety of reasons. Betis don’t have to believe we have no money left in some silly hoodwinking manoeuvre, they just have to know how much we think the player is worth and how strong we are that we won’t bend on that front. And that now we have identified a player we believe to be available and may now use all that money on him instead of Lo Celso.

I’m not suggesting Dybala is purely an effort to put pressure on Betis, however, wanted to dispel the notion that he couldn’t be because he cost more.

I may have a £50 note in my pocket when I go to pay for a can of Coke, but that doesn’t mean I’ll pay you £30 for said can, when you see how flush I am at the till.

In reality, I’ll probably go next door where they’re charging a bit more, but don’t act like Billy Big Balls while they have their financial backs up against a wall. I would let you know that as I walked out the door.

That’s why this could quite easily be a tactic to force Betis’ hand ........simple business strategy.

Option 2 for me - Betis saying they want the release clause of 88m... Dybala potentially available at 80m, lets drop them into panic mode as its been public for a few days they need to sell GLC to fund new signings and could be prepared to accept less....Which ITK said Levy loves a game of Poker?

If I had to guess I give this thread another 2 days before somebody ITK totally shoots it down and people start throwing themselves off buildings and so on.

Has Poch spent the summer with Ossie?

I can’t see this happening but it would be interesting to watch us lose Toby, Rose and Trippier in a transfer window but then build one of the best midfield/forward line ups in the league.

We’d then be sat here in January 2020 complaining about lack of investment in defence.

I saw it at the time but instantly dismissed it because it's Tuttosport.
Tuttosport is crap, but is a Turin based paper with links to Juve, so it shouldn't be dismissed out of hand.
