Can anyone tell me what sort of player he is? I’ve only seen clips here and there, and really couldn’t say I know how good he is.

Oh, well why don't you step into my office. He's an elite box-to-box midfielder with incredible first touch and dribbling ability, as well as top-notch passing range and vision. You'll see people compare him to Dembele, which is partly accurate in terms of the strength and ability to progress the ball and get out of tricky situations with his dribbling. Ndombele, though, is smaller but a much more explosive athlete in terms of speed and quick-twitch movement. Defensively, he's stout, aggressive, and reads the game very well. Turns defense into attack rapidly. With all of this said, his best trait may be his high football IQ. Seems to know exactly where the ball needs to go before receiving the ball and has the ability to play every single pass in the book. At 22 years old, there's a reason one of the most sought after midfielders in recent memory.

For those interested in seeing the range of his abilities, this is a solid video that showcases what he's all about. It breaks it up by dribbling, passing, and defense. Note that some of his best contributions come against top teams like Man City and Barca in the UCL and PSG in Ligue 1.

Is this the verbal version of a 'welcome to Liverpool' video?

An amazing talent, want this man to sign more than any other.

Sometimes the ball looks tied to his boot on a short length of string, love the direct daisy cutter passes.
Think the PL defenders will be hacking him to bits though.

Make this happen DL. We've deserved this and it's been three long desperate weeks since the most disastrous day of my Spurs supporting life. Yep I'm the entitled one.

If there’s any player I want to see in a spurs shirt next season it would be this rare talent. He ticks every single box for us and is exactly what Poch likes. He’s young, talented and what we have been missing since dembele’s departure, that box to box midfielder that can hold up the play, turn and drive forward with the ball to set up Kane, son, dele and Lucas. This is who we need to make a statement to the others in the premier league and the world and prove we are title contenders!

I think we're very laboured in attack at times, this guy will speed up our transitional play no end.

He really is a very incisive passer of the ball, could see us scoring a tonne of goals next season!

As that player to just transition the ball from defense to attack, I am not sure I have seen a better player currently.

Did anyone watch Lyon enough last season to know why they failed to even get close to PSG last year?
With the likes of F.Mendy, Ndombele, Fekir, Aouar, M.Dembele & Depay all within their ranks last year, the fact that they nearly missed out on a CL spot is surprisingly poor.

2 main things:

1. Defense was poor compared to the other top clubs, allowed way too many goals.
2. Despite talented forwards like Depay, Dembele, and Traore, their finishing was very bad. Underperformed their xG by a fair bit. If you watch a lot of Ndombele reels, you'll see countless balls put on a plate for forwards and they still found ways to not put them in the back of the net.

Wasn't there a quote a while back where Poch expressed his thoughts that, had he been able to work with Dembele from a younger age he could have made him in to one of the all time great midfielders, or words to that effect?

You've got to imagine he'd be really excited to work with this lad. I'd certainly love to see how he could develop him.

Again, this is the transfer I want to happen more than any other.

Looks like the real deal this chap. Watching the highlights video it also reminds me that the French mens national team has a ridiculous embarrassment of riches at the moment. They could put out two teams and they'd both be good enough to make the quarter finals of the world cup!!! Definitely another golden generation for them.

Back on the topic.... I can fully understand why Poch is so hot to trot for this guy. He's got it all and could be another Pogba, hopefully minus the shitty attitude. Landing a player of his caliber and Le Chelso too, would transform our midfield.

indeed. video posted by Legend above makes me drool at the prospect of him breaking down the press so we dont have to resort to the CB > Forward "just boot it" strategy of late. break down the pressing line, move into space, attack while running downhill and quickly finding running mids/FWs. yes please. like a faster (maybe stronger?) dembele, equally good touch. really hope this comes through.

This guy is like the complete opposite to Dier. Loves to receive the ball under pressure.

The thought of him and Eriksen in midfield:)
