It's very confusing to what the original bid was.
Betis fans questioning this journalist - who then went on to reply with highlighted articles in response where he tries to make the point that the €60m figure came from diario de sevilla, and that the €70m came from Sky Sports and now the €40m is made by ABC de Sevilla.
Really hope ABC are full of shit in this case and I agree the thing that keeps me calm is JJ's optimism.

That 40m could be the base fee without the additional add-ons and performance related clauses. The devil would be in these details...

Article specifically says it was 35m rising to 40m. This could have been anything.
We could have said 50-60 and they said 100 so Levy could have bid 40 to make a point.
It could be they are annoyed at Levy and leaked a low bid to voice that frustration.
It could be entirely BS.
Anyone's guess.

Barca are trying to figure out how to afford Greizmann and De Ligt and are begging people to buy Coutinho from them. I doubt he's going there. I'd be more concerned City come in for him as a long term David Silva replacement.

All other teams will be aware if him so not concerned about him having a great tournament then suddenly he becomes hot property. I just think the longer it takes for us to conclude a deal, the longer other teams will have to convince him to join them.
They already have that covered in Foden and Bernardo

Can’t sign anyone until the Champions League Final is over, can’t sign anyone until the Internationals are over. After that it could well be x had a good tournament so now others are circling. Looks like the same patterns from last year but I guess it’s still early days. I’ll be very concerned if nobody has arrived by July.

One thing im curious on. If we werent trying to seal the transfer pre- COPA... why did we make a bid and seemingly leak it pre CL Final? We've effectively shown our hand and now embargoed on progressing further whilst he is at the tournament.
Yes we can negotiate and agree a fee but seems unlikely we can confirm it until after the tournament ends, therefore open to the deal being hijacked by another club. Feels quite un-Levy like. Obviously appreciate its not quite that straight forward, but thats how its played out publicly.
