They really are scummy deluded and self entitled to the highest order. They got so much luck this season, Lloris throwing one in his own net, Pickford having a brain fart in the merseyside derby and handing them the points, Son not getting that penalty, all thre Sala dives, there are literally at least a dozen incidents where they clearly got a huge amount of luck over the season which directly led to them achieving maximum points.
Not to mention playing their first 11 every single week without any bad injuries all season long. It's unheard of. They won't get the same luck next season and won't be close to the point tally they have now.
They'll still be a good side,, but they won't be that far ahead of everyone else. I would say they accrued an extra 20 points from sheer luck.
I'm no Liverpool fan, I was jubilant yesterday but I have to say the above is a little bit silly. To suggest you finish on 97 points due to being "lucky" is rubbish. Every side in the league has their fair share of lucky and unlucky moments during the course of the season. They had 2 players who scored 20 goals and lost 1 game all season (to the eventual champions). They're an excellent team and Klopp is an excellent manager. Yeah, Salah dives, I'd hasten to point out we are no angels ourselves in that regard. They were fortunate with injuries but it's not as if they didn't suffer any, TAA was out for a stretch and Joe Gomez hasn't played since the beginning of December. You can't take away from the fact they've been magnificent, which in a way makes them finishing second even sweeter.
I agree with what you are saying. 97 points is not down to luck and whilst I do think they'e benefitted from some bad decisions you still have to go on and win the game. Klopp has made them so well drilled and they are one of the best around now.I'm no Liverpool fan, I was jubilant yesterday but I have to say the above is a little bit silly. However, I'd love to see how they'd have coped with our injury record and lack of preseason. Klopps' teams are based on high energy and quick transitions. They would not have been able to have done that with the extent of injuries we've suffered.
So when others say they are far ahead of us, I think they are wrong. A healthy Pochettino squad gets close to Klopp's best.
Wrong thread dude...this is the 'Lets laugh at Liverpool' ThreadI'm no Liverpool fan, I was jubilant yesterday but I have to say the above is a little bit silly. Sky Sports main deadline yesterday "Thommo: I'd take Coutinho back to Liverpool".I hate all this, I think I've read/seen 3 or 4 articles/interviews from ex and current players saying they're here to stay, well why don't you get on and do it, and when you have then you can start flapping your gums.
Sky Sports main deadline yesterday "Thommo: I'd take Coutinho back to Liverpool".
This was ahead of;
- City winning the league - the aftermath
- Hughton being sacked
- Hazard stating he has told Chelsea his plans
- Bolton have points deducted
How is the opinion of a long-nosed gobshite more headline worthy of any of these other stories?
That may well be the case in the UK (though I think you are forgetting Chelsea and West Ham fans).I know of absolutely no one, bar gooners, who would rather Liverpool won it.
