Anyone know what the rulebook actually says? A push can't possibly be a straight red?

VIOLENT CONDUCT

Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made.

In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible.

OFFENCES WHERE AN OBJECT (OR THE BALL) IS THROWN

In all cases, the referee takes the appropriate disciplinary action:
reckless – caution the offender for unsporting behaviour
using excessive force – send off the offender for violent conduct.

Really that’s a red card ..? You can barely flick someone in the ear on a football pitch these days , the bournemouth player should be embarrassed

At least sons fresh for Ajax

If Dier comes back on the field after HT we are asking for even more trouble.

No need to go for broke and throw Llorente or Janssen on now, play it sensible because we can still create opportunities even down to 10 men but for the love of Christ, let's try and keep our heads!!

What on earth are you talking about? In every respect that is nonsene....

You think we are going to win this or Everton without son and kane? And we are going to win a CL semi after they've had to play with 10 men? I admire you optimism mate

That would be a terrible tactical move IMO. Keep Moura up front, sit deep and play more direct.

We've completely lost our heads on this game though. Dier should be off too and Bournemouth didn't get a stonewall penalty.

We should have been leading already, although Moura and Son as a strike partnership is tactically ridiculous and I don't know what Poch was thinking.

2 penalties for me, Lloris on Wilson

Son turned into the incredible hulk for a second and the ref didnt like it. green eyed monster reared its head

Just saw it, hands not to the face, should only be a yellow. Referee should be "rested", its like a judge giving 15 years for a parking ticket.
