I think this page sums up what the press has us down as. We claim that we need winners in the team, people who will stop at nothing to get us the win. So for example when one of our players takes responsibility for a loss due to a glaring miss regardless of the other fuck Ups from his team mates I find it staggering that there are so many soft posts defending him and basically telling him that it’s ok.
Comments like he’s not on the pitch to score goals, he’s not that type of player etc are finding excuses on his behalf. He’s a £30m player on £100k a week, so he should be that type of player that is able to compose himself and score when it’s harder to miss.
I wish more players would take responsibility like this, I’ve been wide awake since 4am stewing over his miss and replaying it over and over in my head as I know that I now have the day from hell to come with my work colleagues giving it large. Stop making excuses for these players who neee very little encouragement to take them and cuddle in to the bossom of the “you tried you best that’s all you can do” mother figures.
