Can’t remember a time when the FA or Refs turned on an official. We’ll never get to hear that recording and Dean will still be reffing matches for years to come.
Bobby Madley got fired for an offensive joke on snapchat.

Although the numbers do seem to show Dean has made big errors in several of our games over the years since he 'celebrated' Dembele's goal, I can't help but think it's also the poor standard of our referees now. Few tournaments ago one of ours reffed a major international final, last summer we had none. You could probably go through every game this season and pick out more errors than correct calls. I honestly cannot think of one referee that I'd be happy to officiate our matches.

I know a lot of people don't like it, and I feel it needs a lot of work, but VAR is needed to assist the ineptitude of our referees. The time it takes to make a decision will get lesser and lesser with experience. It'll eventually become second nature. They should get a pre season with it, training etc.

I don't disagree with this, but I keep reading how the fact we had no refs at the World Cup illustrates how crap they are.
The only reason we had no refs at the World Cup was because Clattenberg quit after starting the World Cup program, at the time Michael Oliver hadn't even reffed a CL game so wouldn't have been selected, the rest of them were too old or not experienced enough to be considered....had Clattenberg not quit then he'd have been there.

This is a site for fans to air their views but when the same so called fans have nothing but negative or anti spurs things to say you have to question their right to be called spurs fans.
We all have pro and anti views sometimes but the ones who never have a view that is pro spurs I question .

I had no idea as to why, only knew we had zero representatives in the refereeing stakes. But, you cannot argue that the level of refereeing this season in particular has dropped.

The cynic in me thinks its orchestrated to make us welcome the introduction of VAR next season.

By all accounts the **** is a Tranmere fan

Oh that’s okay then, no way of being biased as I doubt he has any friends or family he would want to keep happy. Find out if he pays full membership please and if the boss of the gym supports any of the other 91 clubs in the main division just in case we play them and he is is ref:whistle:

I have to admit that I’ve genuinely thought this. It definitely feels as though there’s been an increase in obviously poor decisions.

I’m on here because I’m a Spurs fan, I’d have thought that was pretty obvious. And I’m not digging out fellow fans, I’m digging out stupidity. We didn’t lose on Saturday because of Mike Dean, and no he doesn’t have an agenda to make us lose every time he officiated our games, so why the fuck do we have a 15-page thread dedicated to him on a Spurs forum? THAT’S odd.

If it were just this Mike Dean thing, then I wouldn’t be going so hard, but almost every time I log in here there’s a new reason why everyone hates us and the odds are all so irrevocably stacked against us. Anyone that expresses a criticism about us either hates us or is stupid and doesn’t understand the unique set of circumstances that means normal rules don’t apply to us, and anyone that praises us is obviously fair and speaks the truth. This is all so unbelievably delusional. Get mad at me by all means, but it won’t make any of this nonsense even a little bit more true.
Nobody is saying that we lost that specific game because of Mike Mean. However, when we look back over the records of him refereeing Spurs matches, the number of losses on an aggregated basis are too many. It takes the "co" out of "coincidental", and you are left with "incidental" which means factually happening.
Whether or not it is used an excuse is irrelevant. With that kind of overwhelming plausibility, a referee's actions must be allowed to be called out. We can't be afraid of just criticism just because it might be conceived as a poorly written excuse.
Tottenham played poorly, Mike Mean was even worse. He has got something to fix generally speaking, even if that specific match result was deserved.

I think the problem with Dean lately is that he seems to have become more and more aware of the the fact that he's sort of a meme with his poses becoming more flamboyant by the week, and I really think he'd found it difficult to "waste" his 100th red card on someone like Phil Bardsley or Jeff Hendrick for instance.

The problem with VAR is it won't stop refs like Dean refereeing with the inequality he did on Saturday. Calling similar situations differently depending on the team will not be overturned by VAR.

Just look how he refereed forwards backing in, jostling and jumping for a ball. Kane and Llorente penalised time after time despite being clearly held, while the Burnley forwards could back into, hold and jump into out defenders unpunished.

That seems to be the case with us every week with whichever ref.

I don't believe we've ever had the rub of the green, with very few exceptions, when it comes to refs, but it does appear to have got worse since the season Leicester won the league and the lack of penalties awarded to us is a complete joke, particularly at Wembley!!

Allegedly Poch is supposed to have said ton dean to repeat whatever he was alleged to have said again in front of the cameras.

Will be interesting to see if he did say anything dodgy and if so, would hope Poch informs the FA of it (as Dean reported Poch like a grasser lol).

Poch has accepted the charges, so I doubt we will ever know what Dean said

just hope that this incident either stops Dean being our ref, because the minute he does, and gives us a decision (if it's even possible) we will be back to square 1, others saying he only gave it because of what happened

Part of me loves that Poch is a very respectful man who wants to leave it on the pitch and he's a very class man even though his reaction was wrong here but fuck sake deep down I wanted him to turn to the dark side and rip into Dean.
