This is what I was trying to grasp at, that Poch will see this as the chance for the team to grow in mentality but I guess the writers at Football365 are better at articulating it than me.
Understandably very subdued during his post match interview. I do hope he stays but I can't blame him if he wants to move onto bigger and better things.
Who’s going to want a manager with zero trophies to his name and his team collapsing when it matters in semi-finals or finals?
And what will happen? He’ll go elsewhere and win the lot.Everyone
So what are you suggesting?Has a horrible record in semi finals and big cup games as our manager. It's a constant stick he is beaten with. We have an amazingly talented squad and really should have won at least one cup by now.
think you are wrong on the merits mate and also doesn't work from a finances, HG or squad mentality perspective. One thing that will be interesting if Poch does stay in the summer, will he be ruthless and cut some players who have been good for him, but are not up to scratch any more? The best managers are absolutely ruthless when it comes to knowing when to let people go. Maybe because of our limited finances, he’s not been able to do it, but surely the bell’s tolling for Trippier and Lloris.
So what are you suggesting?
So are you hoping for a change of manager?I'm suggesting there remains huge questions marks over Poch's ability to get this team over the line. At the end of the day, we can look for all the excuses under the sun, but it keeps happening every season. Poch still hasn't won a trophy, progress seems to have stalled big time. We haven't learnt anything from our previous semi final defeats, we are still plucky losers.

In terms of cuts, remember that between this window and the summer it is pretty certain that Janssen will be gone along with Fernando, Vorm, GKN. Also suspect that Aurier may leave because he is a non-HG and can assist raising funds.
If you think that a squad should have 2 players for every position + 3 keepers, our squad will start like this:
Kane, Moura
Alli, Son
Lamela, Eriksen
Winks, Sissoko
Dier, Wanyama
Davies, Danny
Jan, Foyth
Toby, Sanchez,
Trippier, KWP
Hugo, Gazza
That is only 20 and includes Toby who may leave and Wanyama who has to be a big question on the injury front.
Let's assume we keep Toby and Eriksen and Wanyama.
That means we are at 18 outfield and 1 keeper.
Skipp is in (let's call him Wanyama cover).
Still think we need 4 outfield players and a keeper.
Even if we promote one of Amos or Onoma to the first team squad, as opposed to just filling it out, we have a lot of players to bring in.
My sense is that an attacking midfield who can cover for Eriksen and Lamela is on the cards. As is one more versatile forward. Of course a CM would be super but am not sure we will bring one in because of the quality of player we need and finances.
Best guess is Grealish, Sessegnon in + a HG keeper
We will bring Amos and/ or Onomah into the group.
Would give us 22/23 + 3 keepers.
Could pay for those ins with all the players leaving.
Some wages to top up Eriksen, Verts and if we are lucky Toby.
Then if we have some money (for real) we can go for one quality player in the 50 million range.
My outside bet is on Ben Chillwell!
And what will happen? He’ll go elsewhere and win the lot.
Then we’ll be left with arguably one of our most talented squads to be picked apart. Mainly as we just sat on our arses and didn’t improve the squad. One guy will be delighted though with a hefty release clause being matched and multiple suitors for our key men.
the cult of Pochettino has become so huge that you can't think highly of him AND still question in any way his ability to win. it has to be one or the other. but it's really annoying, because as obviously-talented a manager as he is, he is also quite evidently flawed. this is a pattern now, we've repeatedly been unable to get ourselves over the line. anyone that thinks this will magically change when he is given more money, whether at Tottenham or anyone else, is simply deluding themselves.

Not dissimilar to his recent interviews with Sky in my opinion - he seems really pissed off with then and has no time for their wanky line of questioning.
Look at the interview he did on the OS or the transcript Ally Gold posted, he’s much more chirpy.
