The record transfer from a championship club to a premier club (not including a club just relegated and yet to play in the championship is the £22m Leicester paid Norwich for Maddison. Ok we missed an opportunity perhaps to deal at £25m, although we don't truly know what the fee was, but Villa demanding £40m for Grealish who isn't even an international is way out of line IMO.
I think Grealish has great potential and can see him being extremely pissed off if Villa dig their heels in and deny him what is a fantastic opportunity to further his career , harbour an possible England call up and play in the CL. Lets hope the Villa hierarchy see this and weigh up the option of taking the money and investing in players that are going to give them a chance of promotion rather than have a unhappy player semi committed to the cause.
linky?Daily Mail reporting that Jack is on his way to us.
I really don't know, I highly doubt the club was sold overnight and that the ones who are allowed to sanction transfers knew nothing about it before then. I also doubt potential suitors would look favorably upon a club selling arguably it's biggest resource in the middle of an acquisition. The due diligence, going over accounts and assessing the club is not done in a day, a week or maybe even a month so I highly doubt it was as likely as everyone keeps saying it was. This ones over for me.we could have done the deal for 25m when villa were skint and we dragged it on trying to shave a few mil off.villa now want the full 40m not going happen
Thought that was about Zaha?Who's the journalist? i.e. Is this what @Hercules was alluding to earlier?

The sun i thinkIs it not the case that the Daily Mail has had surprisingly accurate stories about Spurs in recent times, or am I completely mis-remembering that?
I'm not sure but I know the Scum had got a few things surprisingly right over the last couple of windows. Is it not the case that the Daily Mail has had surprisingly accurate stories about Spurs in recent times, or am I completely mis-remembering that?
They are in the midst of a midfield injury crisis and it is understood that, aside from a move for Aston Villa's Jack Grealish, no new arrivals are imminent.
Can't find it on the Mail website or their twitter...weird
