Jamie Redknapp doesn't think it's a penalty, but he's an idiot. He just said that Redmond was pulling, but that it is a contact sport. Only in the version of football invented by Webb Ellis is it legal, Jamie.
The BBC has pulled out the rule book and proved Dean was right.

Well played Spurs. 4 winnable games and we've won 3 so far. That is showing improvement. We would never have done that in previous seasons, except last year. We're scoring much more now, and tonight's result gives us an even healthier goal difference.

Big Mo was mustard today, really settling now ,he does the simple things really well maybe because he doesnt have the trickery of other flair players but sometimes the simple ball is the most effective one.Wanyama obviously had a point to prove and bosses the midfield and dare I say Danny Rose was Hazard like with his forward play , and Deles back to last seasons level.COYS

Great result. After all the teams above us won their games there was a bit of extra pressure, and obviously going a goal down so early didn't help. But we stuck with it and delivered a miserable Christmas to what I consider to be a pretty annoying group of fans.

Alli somehow in his worst and best form simultaneously.

Hopefully it bodes well for the second half of the season that we've played very casually in a lot of games. Hopefully when we do click into action we won't burn out this time.

A dominant, smothering performance but I found that difficult viewing for the majority. Our attacking play remains slow and ponderous and lacking risk or invention for the most part

A good win against a handy opponent but I still feel like we are stuck in 2nd gear this season

Who gives a crap if it is or isn't a penalty. So what. I don't care. It went in our favour. Player gets sent off, apparently shouldn't have...again, don't care. The amount of times it's happened against us. Why are we even debating it?

People just looking for something to whine about.

On 5Live? The only thing they've got wrong is saying that Redmond stumbled into Alli accidentally. He clearly did it on purpose.

Right. Just watched that pass again from the perfect angle. @heelspurs @cheeseman and @Oscar22. That pass was going straight to Son until Romeo's head puts it in front of Son. Definitely helped as it meant he didn't have to control it first possibly, but it was still a much better piece of Vision and execution than the half arsed cross that Sissoko looped off Redmond's arse.

Sissoko was better second half, and as I said, I'd have had Alli or Kane off before Sissoko, not sure if that pisses on your BC agenda theory, or maybe your BC agenda agenda overrides that ?

No offence mate but why would/should we be expecting to be having much chance of a top 4 finish again? I don't see how not being in the top 4 this season would be a disappointment given the freak nature of last season in general and the improvement of the big clubs.

We should be going all-out to win a cup, specifically the Europa, not worrying about top 4. The league is the thing we have least control over and I don't know why we'd be looking at being 5th as any kind of under-achieving when we shouldn't be expecting to finish any higher than that - and that would still mean finishing above United. We are the sixth biggest club and we're trying to build a new stadium - anything above sixth place in the league is an achievement.
4th is very important this season imo. Making it two season on the trot is important for our stature. We're not going to win EL. Not gonna go over this again; think I made a longish post about it in the CL thread already.

I'm definitely in the the 'focus on league, give everything for CL qual' camp, though.
