Agreed. Just hope he doesn't criticise that dick terryMuch better pundit then player. Really lovely bloke and hope he makes it in the media.
Still remember that uber-uber-uber last minute goal he scored against the gooners in a 2-2 draw. Won us a point that day!
I always remember the free kick he scored at OT to get us a point. Good footballer, he had all the tools. Just not consistent. At all. Which, for a CM, is a bit of a bugger really. FB and CM, no room for up and down games really.Still remember that uber-uber-uber last minute goal he scored against the gooners in a 2-2 draw. Won us a point that day!
The stick that Jenas got as a player was overkill and pathetic.
I will remember him best for that first season in which he helped us qualify for Europe and the season under Ramos when we won the league cup, that was the best form of his career. He lacked the dedication to take himself to the next level. Constructive criticism is fine but I think he was far too much of a scapegoat. For 7 million, I think he was a decent buy.I always remember the free kick he scored at OT to get us a point. Good footballer, he had all the tools. Just not consistent. At all. Never understood why he drew the ire of so many though. Some real vitriol flew throughout all the Spurs forums over him at times.
Edit to add: Which at the time confused the shit out of me. Bear in mind I had been largely fed on a diet of complete shite with the likes of washed up Sherwood (vomit) and his usual average self Redknapp (gouges eyes out) being a midfield high point other than the first couple of years I followed us in the early 90's. So, Jenas was a mahoosive step up in that he wasn't basically an unlikable **** and had some footballing ability.
In hindsight though, and after watching a Modric operate then yeah, he wasn't one of the very best CMs in the world. I'll never hold that against him myself.
Yep. I remember all of those guys fondly. The very first time in my Spurs life where we weren't a joke - an actual joke - in the league. They're OK by me!I will remember him best for that first season in which he helped us qualify for Europe and the season under Ramos when we won the league cup, that was the best form of his career. Probably the cause of much of the resentment. Some of things he did on the pitch were stupid good. The technique and composure required was insane. And then weeks would go by...Jenas lacked hunger unfortunately; physically he had it all to be a great player.
Dele Alli actually reminds me a lot of Jenas from an ability and stature point of view; but you can see Alli has the fire in his belly to be a top player.
