Funny how Walker has been one of our best performers this season yet people are still picking Trippier in their teams. I suspect these are the same people who were adamant that Trippier would walk into our first team, coz, you know, walker is shit init. Like Njie, Wimmer and Son, I think they should get a game or 2 under their belts in the Europa before we rush them in. Should they impress in those games then by all means bring them into the starting 11 for the league

Hugo
Walker Toby Vert Rose
Dier Bentaleb
Dembele Eriksen Chadli
Kane
Walker's been better defensively this year - although it's not been hard to improve on last season. The thing that's not changed is that he's still getting lots of the ball in attacking third and he's completely wasteful with it. His body shape is almost always completely wrong to cross 1st time, and he doesn't seem to have a clear plan in his mind what he wants to do with it when he gets it.

Trippier's a bit like Beckham in that if he's anywhere near the opposition penalty area he'll take one touch and whip it in. His delivery is usually good, and it will help Kane so much to be able to predict when the deliveries are coming in to time his runs.

I gues it's a squad seniority thing for Poch and Trippier will have to earn his spot through the Europa League or Walker getting injured.

I don't think Walker is sh*t, but it's about balance.

We have one the of the best headers and finishers in the PL in Kane getting no service.

If we're going to persist with Inside forwards who can't cross quickly on their outside foot (which it seems we are), it's imperative we need at least 1 of our full backs able to cross the ball.

Neither Walker or Rose are providing this, and I'd rather drop Walker than Rose to find that balance.

Based on performances so far, I reckon...

Lloris

Walker Toby Verts Rose

Dier Bentaleb

Son Dembele Chadli

Kane

I think N'Jie will make an appearance at some point during the game, however with Son being the older and more experienced I can see him starting over N'Jie if Eriksen hasn't returned. The rest of the bench will be the usual suspects.
Cannot be based on performances so far if you have included Son who is yet to play for us, and omitted Mason who has been one of our better players.

where does this myth of Poch taking ages to integrate a player into the first team come from?

So last year he had Stambouli, Fazio, and Davies who were additions? I think we all know why the Stambouli and Fazio didn't play... Dier was thrown straight in.

Toby has gone straight into the team. Understand that having a pre-season will help and players joining late in the window wont necessarily be straight in, but I don't get why this is now considered a "poch" thing...

Walker is a good crosser, actually. I remember the year he got POTY and he demonstrated then he could put in a lot of good balls. I know that was a long time ago but I've seen a handful of good crosses from him this season alone. From the little I've seen of Trippier in a spurs shirt I think his crossing ability is way overstated. I've seen him put in some shocking balls, and if that was walker you can be sure that's all people would comment on but for some reason people just focus on the couple of good crosses he does put in.

At the end of the day, walker deserves to keep his spot and itappears he is out performing Trippier in training as well. Walker is faster, better defensively and has a lot more experience. If he was continuing last seasons form I'd be the first to say give Trippier a go but thankfully he looks like he's slowly getting back to some good form but a lot of fans have this mental block as far as walker is concerned as they never acknowledge the good he does.

Sunderland showed some improvement against Villa but given our start I'll be very worried if we don't turn them over on Sunday.

They're hands down one of the worst sides in the League and they'll be missing their better players in Johnson and Gomez.

I'm really expecting us to win this providing we see a committed performance and not the ones like we saw against Burnley away last season which was played with all the commitment of a Sunday stroll.

From the fact it took months to put France no.1, captain, one of the best GKS in the world, into the team.

We need pace and goals on the pitch so Son and Clinton to start for me. Alli in for Eriksen if Christian's still injured.

That assumes Dembele and Eriksen are injured.

I think Townsend should get some games as he has the one thing we miss - outright pace.

I think Mason in the middle of the 3 behind Kane. He makes some really good runs beyond Kane, something we struggle to do

What I'd like to see will probably be wildly different to the team Poch will actually put out

Lloris
Trippier Toby Verts Rose
Dier Bentaleb
Clint Erikson Son
Kane
