He is 26 years old and cost us £17m.....i think there is some talent in Paulinho but if we don't think he is going to fit in the squad to the point we would consider loaning him then we should just sell. A loan doesn't do anything for anyone involved.

A loan would mean he would be playing in a system that isn't our system and at the end of the season we would still have his wages, he would be a year older and he still wouldn't necessarily be a fit to the system.
A loan would give him the chance to play every week, and potentially be the star of another English club, it'd give him the opportunity to prove to Poch that he should be playing him...

But i agree, if we get offered anywhere close to the £17m we paid, we should sell and buy Schneiderlin with it.

I think Chelsea and Everton..especially with Barkley long term injured. I've been really disappointed with paulinho after watching him in the confed cup. We need to cut our losses and get an inflated price, I think Russia or Italy are his market

Selling Paulinho within the league would irritate me immensely.
Even a loan i'm against. If he went, it'd have to be abroad. I can't see him going to a lesser PL club and I don't want to strengthen any of our rivals.

No Villa fan expects to finish top8.
No, but the club hierarchy should be thinking that that's an achievable grade.
But that's another conversation for another thread.

Southampton would have been other guess, maybe a form of player swap?!

I'm against selling or loaning any of the Baleful Five. Last year was schizophrenic and now we might have a chance at stability under Poch. We should allow those five a chance to prove themselves when things aren't batshit crazy. If they fail this year, then sell them.

Lol, been converted!! ;) Wasn't that hard was it.
No because I would rather sell Dembele and Sandro than Paulinho. But, Schneiderlin is so important to Poch that if selling Paulinho was the only way, I wouldn't be against it.

Hmmmm...putting ITK together.

'Watch the news' + Paulinho info + Welbeck links over the past week.

Welbeck for Paulinho? I doubt they'd sell us Mata.

If somehow we are lucky to get our money back for paulinho then we should sell him. Anything less and if he wants to stay as a back up player then he should be given chance to prove himself.

Imagine if we sold Paulinho to a PL rival and he started playing every game like that one half he had against Stoke! I would turn in my grave!

Paulinho reminds me a bit of Poyet with his late runs into the box. I think he can score a number of goals in the right system. I'd rather see him stay one more season and see if he can come good under Poch. There's no rush to sell him. I hate to give up on a player so early.

You're forgetting Newton's First Law Of Tottenham: "A player who has disappointed at Spurs will immediately start playing like a Lionel Messi / Paolo Maldini hybrid upon transferring to another team; however the effect will not be observed if the player remains at Tottenham."

I don't think you need to worry too much about that
