WHAT? in the hands of Eriksen? the same player who was left out for a month, the same player who has nearly 50 caps at the age of 22, or the player he claims to have seen at Wembley aged 17 despite that game being when he was nearly 19 and not at Wembley. Eriksen says he's never played at Wembley.
Well done Tim, you were given a known gem and he's scoring goals. Not sure even Harry Redknapp would claim responsibility for this move. Actually, he probably would.
Did Sherwood write the piece himself?
I am trying to make sense of your rant in the context of the article posted, and am failing utterly.
rant is generous, thank you.I am trying to make sense of your rant in the context of the article posted, and am failing utterly.
I don't understand how a full quote mentioning Wembley can be "doing the rounds."rant is generous, thank you.
Tottenham’s academy might also have had the outstanding Christian Eriksen in their ranks if Levy had listened to Sherwood’s recommendation five years ago.
“I watched him playing as an 18-year-old for Denmark against England and rang Daniel Levy the next day to say we have to sign this boy,” said the manager. “Now £10 million later he is here and it is all good news,” he added with a grin.
from the article.
The full quote doing the rounds actually says 'against England at Wembley', where he has never played. Now he has inherited Eriksen, left him out for a month, and the article hangs on Eriksen being one for Sherwood's future. Makes you wonder if Sherwood is actually telling the truth, and assuming he has no future at the club, makes you wonder whether he briefed the journalist himself or even wrote the piece.
they haven't used the full quote, the independent:I don't understand how a full quote mentioning Wembley can be "doing the rounds."
The article, with quotes, is available on the Telegraph on line and Wembley isn't mentioned. Eriksen did indeed play against a England in 2011 and this is presumably the game Sherwood is referring to.
I appreciate that people have a hatred for Sherwood well beyond the rational, but sticking to the facts would be helpful.
seems clear to me. TS said he saw Eriksen play at wemvley and recommended him to Levy. Poster stating that couldn't be the case. Don't know about the authenticity of the claim but its fairly clear.
I didn't see Wembley (or wemvley) mentioned either unless it was a different article? Please link me if possible to that quote (not drivel) but actual quote please.
Maybe Eriksen is on his bike. He will have anticipated champions league push with the players he arrived with. Maybe a clause or maybe his agent has engineered a move back to Europe or to one of the top four in UK.
