I don't know why there is so much negativity around this place at the moment.

During the Liverpool game I went through several emotions including anger at the performance, the result, The selection, naughton in general (even his face annoys me), resignation but also excitement. It's strange because when it got to 3-0 I kind of gave up and was even, dare I say it, happy that we lost 5-0 instead of 2-0 as that really was an embarrassment and a true reason to stop the bleeding.

I'm particularly excited about Ramsey being part of the 1st team mix as by all accounts he is an incredible coach that helps assess the assessors, so he must know what he's doing. That added to the way the youth team have been having success, by playing attacking football, I really think we could see a positive change now.

I couldn't give a shit who was in charge as long as we play exciting football that I'm actually wanting to see. Success is one thing but watching the team I love is another, otherwise we could all just play football manager and wank each other off as we win the champions league for the 8th time in a row.

Spurs is by word for attacking, exciting play with flair and a swagger that we haven't seen for a while. Yes we may have the tag as perennial fuck ups but if we aren't going to quite reach our goals, id at least hope we went down fighting.

Let's really get behind the guys on Wednesday at least and see what they bring to the table.

I'm really not sure how I feel right now.

I was really behind the firings of Graham and Hoddle and believed it was the right time for Redknapp to go though I was more on the fence with that one and thought overall he did a good job.

I've been putting up with dull performances this season believing it was part of a project and whatever my opinion of it, it was best to wait for it to take shape.

Now I'm completely unsure of where we are going as a club. Does Levy have a clue what his next move is?

I guess Sherwood takes over for the season and we wait until the summer to hire a head coach unless one of the international coaches will do the job during the season.

Right now I'm just downcast at the project not working. If Levy had sacked AVB with a clear plan in place then I'd be more upbeat. Right now I have no idea what our strategy is.

I cannot get excited. I really thought this was it and the board would let him have time.

2 seasons and they ditch him.

Same old same old and we will never learn.

TM come on, did you watch the game on Sunday? This isn't anything new our play has been awful this year with absolutely no sign of improvment. With the players we have we should be playing much better football and be capable of an attempt on goal when playing at home. Its been a long time since I seen us play as bad as we did on Sunday. When was this improvment going to happen? How was it going to be achieved? Improvment should be seen slowly and gradually, we were getting worse instead of better.

Honestly, what did you see in AVB that made you think things were gonna get better and the project was gonna be a success? Im not saying its all his fault but I have a feelign AVB is only gonna be a successful manager when he gets EXACTLY the players in he wants and basically duplicates what he done at Porto.

Im ecited to see what we can push onto and achieve, I do know that with the players we have on the books we should be performing much better than we are, thats a simple fact.

It's happened now, we just have to move on. We won't ever really know if it was the right decision or not. All I know is that team playing against Liverpool on Sunday was not my tottenham. In fact I haven't seen the team I love for some time now, the odd glimps, but nothing more.

Let's face it, considering how poor we have been this season, we are lucky to be where we are in the league. I can only be positive that we will improve. I always expected the second half of the season to be when we really get going, and I still have that belief, whoever is in charge. Our young squad will only get better.

Things really changed when we lost Bale. I had 100% faith in AVB that he could be the manager to lead us forward.

Guess we will never know. On to the next victim.

If avb was employed after substantial talks about being at the helm, overseeing a new project and new philosophy, he should have been given many years to get it kicking. We're all about the now. It's a real shame. That said; we're missing a world class player, who would have at least added some shine to what was a bit of a depressing few months. I for one would have stuck by AVB for another two years - but having it all up in the air again is a a bit exciting.

For me it's easy to talk about AVB's failings and be behind the firing.

But I can't get excited right now because first of all I am disappointed AVB failed.

But also because Levy has a horrendous record of hiring managers and he seems to have done this without any sort of plan in place.

Now is not a time to be excited for me.

Quite so. I hate to see any Spurs sacking. But 0-3,0-1,2-2 and 0-5 at home. Forgetting City. Plus how the performances were. He had to go.
But it was still sad to see and I still did not totally agree, but I'm a softy. No, Daniel did the horrible deed and AVB's stubbornness and or intransigence was at the root of the situation.

Basically, performance-wise, it can't get worse so I guess that is kind of exciting.

Didn't the U21s win the league and concede loads of goals at the same time? Sounds much more Spursy.

Tbf Sherwood was probably a better midfielder than AVB so I wouldn't hold that against him.

You do know Sherwood won the PL with Blackburn? Trust me you must have a pretty shit memory if you think he is one of the worst midfileders we have had.

I guess im an optimist, I see no point in feeling sorry for ourselves. We do have a good squad of players, we are in the QF of the cup, still in Europe and not far off the top 4 we crave. I wasn't really in the AVB out camp but it has happened and I can see why it has happened. Levy will have talked to the people he trusted at the Club, Baldini, Sherwood the coaching staff and will have made his decision. Hell for all we know AVB was happy to go, its happened we move on.

I don't think it's a time to be particularly excited to be honest, there are fundamental problems deeply ingrained in the club and the squad which will take some time and pain to resolve. Just getting a new coach is not going to change everything for the better automatically.

To be frank I've decided to take a bit of a step back emotionally with Spurs. It happened at the end of last season when we yet again missed out on the Champion's League. I realised I was just done with feeling the pain of caring so much every season, and the realisation when Bale scored the winner in the final game that he would be gone either last summer or next, but that we would never hold on to him. I realised that it quite honestly wasn't healthy getting so wound up by football so regularly, even if there were a few brilliant highs before the inevitable failure every season.

Football's not the same game it was when we started this 'project', this improvement we've seen in us as a club over the last ten years or so. The Chelsea's and City's have just left me so disillusioned with the game that I find it hard to get excited these days - at the back of my mind I think I know for a fact that even if we did manage to push someone out of the top four and get ourselves back in there, we wouldn't be able to make it a long term thing. Someone would spend £250m (like Chelsea did when they finished 6th) and make sure we get pushed out again. Some ref somewhere would find some way to give Arsenal just the right amount of penalties they need to beat us to 4th on goal difference, or some Arab would buy Preston NE and spend £20 billion getting them from nowhere to the top of the PL.

I just don't think football is worth the emotional investment I used to give it, and while I'll still be just as interested in everything about the game and Spurs as before, I definitely don't and won't care as much as I used to. Much better to be a step back from it all and try and just enjoy what you can about the game instead.
