I think the one thing I'll take above all else is just how quickly the fans can turn - really is indicative of modern day football but the speed in which yesterday's hero can turn to today's villain is staggering and extremely disconcerting.
True but losing 5-0 at home to anyone without a single shot on target or 3-0 to West Ham isn't really acceptable.

Sport is a result business, not just football. Most sports are the same, cant see Andy Flower being around much longer after we inevitably get stuffed 5-0, and that's after back to back ashes victories. Heads have to roll, and unfortunately for AVB he is first in line.

Because sitting deep would have put a stop to Suarez? The link play of their front players is very, very good.

He has seen that the inverted wingers isn't working and has reverted to traditional ones. Yes, it's small steps but I think that AVB is improving and I think we should stick with him and make it work.

The point was that both dawson and capoue have zero pace and poor positional awareness to play a high line and that was an invitation for Liverpool to exploit the space. Sitting deep would of prevented liverpool having the space to counter our high line. That was basic tactical errors on avb's part and can not be defended.

If I realised I'd hired an electrician to fix my plumbing, I'd replace them. I wouldn't wait for them to learn how to fix something they clearly lack the abilities to do.
That analogy doesn't work when the person you are reffering to has gotten our highest points total in the EPL, has the highest win % and is doing better points wise so far this season than this time last season.

Clever! In my opinion AVB is a good football manager, we therefore keep him. Naughton has proven that he is not a good left back and so we either keep him as a right back reserve (I think not as I don't think he is awesome there either) or get rid and replace.

To be clear : we do not keep every single individual who has ever been employed by the club, on the other hand we do not bin people because things are not going as well as we'd like. We need to show some backbone!

Based on what exactly? The time he won the Portuguese league with the equivalent of Manchester United or the disaster at Chelsea? Or now?

I'm just interested to know why you think he's a good manager. Is just a feeling or have you seen his coaching style in action? Have you seen how he commands respect from the players and gets everyone giving the 5% extra?

Or are you just gay for him like so many other on here?

No he isn't. His core beliefs remain the same and unless they changed he will only ever tinker. Lamela MUST play at number 10 if Eriksen is not fit. Why not play a midfield of

Sandro/Dembele Holtby

Lennon Lamela Townsend

What is wrong with that? Holtby may not be as mobile as Sandro but he is a passer of the ball. What AVB fails to grasp is that we need passers who have the vision to look for forward passes not players who are rigidly stuck in their positions. It is actually ridiculous.
How about Capoue Holtby Sandro
Lamela Soldado Ericksen
Capoue and Sandro clearing up and instructed to win the ball and give it to the front 4 including holtby.
If the front 4 lose the ball win it back and try again.
Give the front 3 licence to roam and interchange as they feel they need to.

look, the reason why we were beaten so easiky today was down to one thing - work rate off the ball. liverpool pressed us like a bunch of animals on steriods, we sat off them and didnt apply anywhere near the same level of pressure in terms of closing them down. that stops with the manager im afraid. only holtby looked hungry.

I really do feel that something was going on behind the scenes. First AVB said BAE was injured but BAE tweeted he wasn't. Then Ade was injured and then not long after there was a quote from Ade in one of the papers saying he did not hit AVB. Then theres Freund, this guy use to be on the touch line jumping 10ft in the air when we scored and doing all motivational stuff.......but that all stopped all of a sudden.

It really does sound like his chav days (if the reports of his time there is to be believed)

Now that you mention it where the F is Freund, I forgot he use to celebrate goals! That is odd.

Quite simply - I really think AVB should be SACKED NOW - The man is such an arrogant Toss. Here is a failure and always will be failure. The investment made in the squad has been a waste - I am still saying SOLDADO and LAMELA are a waste - But to be honest serves Levy and the Board right - this is karma. He has his favorites, but I had predicted today's game is the crunch one and I still see him being sacked before Christmas.

I wouldnt sack him, just yet. He hasnt had a lot of luck with injuries,Walker, Dawson, Capoue and Naughton is far from first choice. And we havent had much luck in midfield either. There has been mistakes in the summer like getting more players for areas where we are short ie left back.... Then there is Europa League, not taking away anything from liverpool but they have been focus all season on their league matches, and while anzhi wasnt that important, it looks like AVB isnt prioritising with the same effect (not spending enough time on training on the league matches), and maybe that is why we are suffering after these games. I said last season we should be knocked out of europe sooner, and this season there should be the same attention to these games as harry applied, this would allow us to focus on the league games more, and allow the team to recover for these. We simply cant focus no several fronts. And maybe if that realisation doesnt dawn on AVB then he should be let go.

Between you and me, their is not much to choose, in my eyes, between Naughton trying to play football today and AvB trying to be a manager.

Both looked out of their depth against their opposite number and do whenever they face decent opposition.
everybody else look away :p

I think Levy will have a bit of explaining to do to Lewis if he sacks AVB. To invest £100m ( all be it ) from Bales sale its still £100m spent....Business is Business and Lewis will not be happy.
flip side to that though is what if Lewis is the one to make waves....
