Strikes me that they have such a conveyor belt of talent that they're the type of club that would rather promote from within when they lose a player to a bigger league. Either that or they have the scouting network to buy their replacement rather than taking a loan signing.
Would be an excellent move for Tom, though, if it did happen.

And there were those the other day who said no way we'd pull off 4/5 signings in a week. We've done three in one today, so two more in by close of the window... Piece of piss.
Current net spend (post impending Bale sale), break even, maybe even a marginal profit.
Great business by Danny and Franco.
Upgrade on Ade and Benny (as far as AVB is concerned) is the only order of business left.
The irony is, earlier in the window, in I think it was the Osvaldo thread (may have been Pkanic though), people were saying we should go after Lamela, but he was out of reach. How things have changed.
Plan A Coentrao, plan B Pereira.

Anyone wondering if the delay in the Bale deal is so that Levy can sit there and swivel round in his chair, look him in the eye and say: "you really don't want to play in this team?"
It's "only" £100m spent - the supposed £50m war chest and the £50m in TV rights money could justify that...
