I think I'll be ignoring the ITK board from now on!

Let's not pretend we aren't disappointed. There's nobody fucking left aside from a 28 year old Soldado at £30m.

Not unexpected. I don't get excited till they sign as every transfer window big names are floated and NEVER happen.

We we were not prepared to pay what silly money Villa were asking, his agent told him so , and no one else would either,so he signed a new contract asap so as not to look a complete cock.

I think this is a signing that would have been great for us, but not at 25m....i am gutted though as i think he would have been perfect for us......lets move on.

First of all, let me say that Christian Benteke may have seemed overpriced but in this world you get what you pay for.

You have to ask yourselves how many goals Christian could have scored for your team with the players you have to support him, compared to how many he scored for Aston Villa last season with the players there? AVFC struggled for a long time last season but he still scored over 20 goals and assisted in nearly half of all other goals scored by his teammate's! Don't forget his physical strength and his ability to dominate in aerial battles too!

The job of the itk is to liven up the transfer window. They give us a glimpse into who our targets are. Saying that they are not Daniel levy and can't possibly predict every eventuality for something as complicated as a player transfer.
Itk makes what is actually a boring part of the year far more exciting. It gives everyone hope, but conversly disappoints when something doesn't Transpire.
Such is life, that is the nature of itk and people have to accept it.
JJ is the best itk and his source seems to transcend regime change. He never said any deal was done just they looked positive, so just lay off him a bit.
I understand humans are reactionary beings and things get written in the heat of the moment, but people need to calm down or the itk will justv stop posting, which will n be a massive tragedy

well you could argue that DL is a cheap c*nt and have done with it or hope there was a more rational explanation......either way Benteke is not coming so lets move on

I find it quite absurd that there are literally no strikers in the world that we can probably afford to buy who will be the quality we need. We won't get Leandro now either because Inter will see that we're desperate and try to screw us. I'd bet a precious part of my anatomy that we start the season with the same strike force as last season.

Thank you Spurs transfer committee, I enjoy you too.

We have to manage expectations, as reality tells us that we have not got the financial muscle, CL football and big wages to get the players we are continually linked with. I don't want us to start lowering the standard of targets, as we have history in landing the odd gem, but it is getting more and more difficult, as the teams with huge wealth will continually blow us out of the water.

I am sure Mr Levy has an alternative striker in mind for your club, just as long as the fee is not above £15m.

I read a lot of thoughts here about Christian's value. Would he not have been worth the £25m asking price if he scored the goals to get Tottenham into a top 4 place? The income generated from Champions League qualification would have been far more than the difference between what Aston Villa were demanding and what Mr Levy was willing to pay!

I feel that Christian Benteke will have another successful season and without any injuries he will almost certainly go to Brazil and be a success with his country. His transfer value will be a lot higher in around 13 months from now!

You lot need to wake up and smell the roses.
Levy is having a laugh. Every window he wastes other chairmen's time making derogatory bus for players he had little intention of signing.
Every window!

And yet still all I ever read here is "in Levy we trust"

It reminds me of God fearing Bible bashers if I'm honest.

Some people are never satisfied we may have missed out on CL football and a few players we all would have liked to have signed and seen in our Lilywhite shirt but at the end of the day we have a "Tremendous" football club on a ultra stable financial footing with a state of the art new training ground that all European teams are envious of and would give their right arm to have and planning and good funding toward a state of the art new stadium.
Some people are never satisfied and personally I would rather be where we are at the present time building gradually rather than having signed players for unrealised extortionate transfer fees and wages to match and end up in a "Leeds" type position with dept up to the eyeballs and in a ever increasing downward spiral to oblivion.

You cannot criticise Mr Levy on this board like that, the masses will revolt, the man can do no wrong

Maybe we can frame our balance sheet and display it in our Trophy Cabinet just like they do down at the Emirates

Kristof Terreur@HLNinEngeland 31m
1. #Lambert stated to Christian #Benteke he didn't want to see him go. Spurs never came close to Villa's asking price, so B changed minds

2. #Benteke yesterday walk in, still with a transfer in his head, but then they offered him, for the first time, a contract offer on paper.

Kristof Terreur@HLNinEngeland 27m
3. Then they called #Benteke's agent, also in Birmingham, and sat down for 2 hours. All those discussions lead to an agreement. #avfc

Also mentioned that Benteke was convinced he could join Spurs, hence transfer request.
