Paulinho and Benteke at roughly £40m will probably be our main business. I hope we finish the deal early, give the squad time to gel and then go into August with a pretty settled squad. Guess deadline will be about Levy style bargain deals.

He might want to do that but you cant buy 3 new strikers and expect to hit the ground running... Let alone afford them.
Plus last season it was one or the other and screwed if 1 was injured, with 3 strikers Ade or Defoe could get injured in training and we would be ok.

Sure if we lost benteke we might be in trouble depending on Ades form, but that is usually the case with any team if they lose their first choice striker. Plus its still a big assumption beneteke would be first choice.

Can't see Ade staying. Not exactly the sort of guy who will fight for his place and wages too big to sit on the bench. Wonder if maybe the Besiktas deal is done subject to us finding a replacement.

AVB really wanted Moutinho too. I think Villa weren't ready to play the long game, which possibly gave Levy an outbreak of nervous thrush or something, but whatever, if he pulls this off, he'll hopefully go a long way toward redeeming himself in the eyes of many, but i'm not holding my breath......... The BSoDL will claim Levy as a snake eyed geni-eye who 'means business' and the Anti-Levyites will claim Lerner 'Out Levy'd' Levy or called his bluff or something. And so the fight of good against evil will continue.

Positive as the ITK might be, when it's officially announced is when i'll start getting erect about it.

This is presumably about Bale's contract and has gone down very well on COYS

Wasn't there a '50m warchest' rumor thrown around? If we land Benteke (Estimated 22m), Paulinho (Estimated 17m) and Chadli (Estimated 8m) that would, theoretically, put us right near that 50m mark.

But who is to say Ade is back up? There is no evidence as yet that Benteke will come in and be automatic first choice, he might yet show his motivated side! You never know.

All I know is if we don't get our strike force sorted properly this season then I'm just gonna enjoy the games and not hold any hope for any sort of honours come next may.

As has been said before, Bale gives us a nice little buffer irt cash and if we spend big and somehow nothing comes of it then he'd be off anyway and we'd recoup.

That's the kind of language DL responds too.
