I'm sorry but while there might some accuracy in that 606 article, I think that the majority of it is nonsense/guesswork.

AVB does not "report" to anybody except Levy imo

Levy said that Baldini was here to help with player recrutment because of his experience and extensive network of connections. He also said that he would be working at all levels of the club. To me that suggests he is not a "scout" as such but a person who will help to develop a strategy for recruiting players at all levels as well as identifying and assisting in the procurement of players. He is not AVB's "boss".

Commolli, do me a favour......

Sherwood is a member of the coaching team and no more.

Levy-so fellas, what do you think we need in terms of players?
AVB-Well as you know Daniel, we were lacking a bit of creativity at times last season and certainly our strikers weren't firing on all cylinders. So a midfielder and a striker that can play in our system. What do you think Franco?
Baldini-I agree with AVB, those are the areas we should be focusing on. It just so happens, I know a young fella playing in South America that might sort out our striking problem. I'll get on the blower and see what I can find out.
Levy-Great. Ok guys we'll meet again next week and see what progress we have made. Obviously, if anything comes up between now and then we'll touch base.

Simplistic I know, but is it really going to be radically different to the above hypothetical scenario?

It's a bloody football club not the KGB!

I'm worried about it and I don't think its fair to just cite QPR as the example. There are loads of successful teams where the manager has control over signings ( ever heard of Man Utd, Arsenal or Everton?). We nned to stop using Redknapp as the barometer to judge everything against.

I don't mind having a DOF if the manager, sorry, HEAD COACH is happy working that way but let's hope AVB's input is more than just minimal. Because one thing is for sure. If we do shit, it's AVB who is going to walk the plank and the next head coach may not be so pleased to be working under Baldini and Sherwood.

I don't know why this is a revelation to some people. As far as I recall our manager has had the title of Head Coach since the days of Jol - certainly Jol and Ramos did and i'm sure that was also Harry's official title.

It was clear under Harry that he had little say in a lot of transfers.

It was clear under Ramos and Jol that Comolli was the one doing the deals.

That AVB doesn't have a lot to do with transfers isn't a surprise to me at all.

Typical bi-polar Comolli, Lloris and Dempsey. From the man who signed Berbatov and Bent.

Dempsey has been given stick by a lot of people, me included, I think we can do better than Dempsey but I have to give the guy his props, he cost 5 million and he scored 7 goals, third highest scorer at the club and he's a midfielder. Bent I think was treated very unfairly by the fans, in his last season at the club he finished top scorer at the club. So on the face of it not too shabby at all.

Hmmm he says Sherwood appointed Steffen Freund but in the first interview Steffen did
with Tottenham (the video is on youtube) he says he spoke to Andre for three hours on the phone
then the next Andre phoned him back and said "yes, i would like to have you here at Spurs".
So Sherwood may of suggested Freund but he didn't appoint him.
That only really shows that just prior to Freud joining he spoke to AVB.

Again makes a lot of sense, you don't go pissing off your manager by appointing anyone at that level. Surely they'd got a good way down the road with Freund but before giving it the green light they got AVB to be comfortable with the appointment too.

If AVB had turned round and said he wasn't comfortable then probably they would have looked elsewhere rather than 'doing a Newcastle' on him.

this makes me laugh! you open with:

then follow up immediately with this:

AVB does not "report" to anybody except Levy imo

So your objection to guesswork is opinion not fact? Isn't that just more guessing? The ironing is delicious! :)

Are things really so bad that we need to call in the ghost of the father of psychoanalysis?

well the man himself said: 'One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful.' which is surely more an explanation of Tottenham Hotspur than anyone could ever have thought at the time

I love Andre...but three hours of that voice on the phone?! No wonder Steffen is so barking!:D

(And yes, that does ring a bell).

Probably two hours of it was Andre doing his errrrrr thang.

"Eeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Steffan, eerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr how are you? Eerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I have errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr heard you errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr are errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr interested...."

And so and....

Nah enough people got it and i didn't want to give out too much info as i don't know what's behind the "answer" - why i don't claim this ITK badge.

also i wanted to remain mystic, however with my current reputation i think i'm about as mystic as a crusty minge.
