Totally different contract situation for those players.

Seriously, the paranoia on this forum is incredible.

The chairman is the same though and I don't think he ever made the complaints because he thought the interest would go away or that there was a realistic chance of sanctions. If he really does complain about Bale it will be because he wants to bolster the transfer fee if and when it ever comes down to that.

The flagrant disrespect of Madrid in their pursuit of Luka and Bale is utterly embarrassing. Certainly, no club is as one poster put it 'whiter than white' but the comments that have come out of the Spanish capital aimed at unsettling our prized players have been disgraceful; that the governing bodies just 'ostrich' - (bury their heads in the sand) is equally damning. Enough is enough! Have to say that Barca were equally culpable over the Fabregas transfer and behaved appallingly. Not sure what punishment can be meted out or the level of compensation, but I would like to see a transfer embargo placed on clubs that embark on a sustained campaign of tapping up. Of course it won't happen but probably the only viable deterrence.

Not suggesting Spurs behave perfectly but proud that our manager/chairman/players do not publicly discuss targets unless an official approach has been made and accepted by the other party.

How about, a ban on signing the player they are trying to 'tap up'?

Say, 5 years?

I don't doubt that the ITK on "tapping up" may be one hundred percent accurate but the Club will likely write a shitty letter of complaint as the vast majority of comments and opinions are just that. What we do not know is if any club has contacted Bale's agent direct or attempted to make contact through a third party (ex -player etc). It is, i guess almost certain that his agent has been asked, or has asked himself the worth of all the media reports directly with say RM and PSG with those clubs. He would be stupid not to, given the amount of money being quoted.

What ZZ, Modric, and news reporters have reported to have said cannot be seen as "tapping up" and will get laughed out of any court should the club attempt to go that far.

A lot of this speculation can be easily got rid of with a simple comment from Bale - "I'm happy at Spurs", and AVB - "I'm committed to the project" etc. Both are on holiday at the so I hope as soon as they get back we get something out to the press along these lines sharpish!

The difference with Rat Face last year is that he actually wanted to leave (same with Berbatov and Keane), whereas this time round I've seen or heard nothing from Bale or AVB suggesting they're itching to get away from the club. Once they set the record straight I think (hope) things will pipe down.

The ONLY surprising thing about ITK update 71 is that we haven't already reported Madrid. This is not like the usual tapping up you see from Real Madrid or any other club, this is not the drop of his name by the manager at a press conference, or an admission of thinking the player is good enough to play for Real. This is a persistent effort to turn Bale's head and to try to get his agent to talk him into handing in a transfer request. We have actually had Zidane tell him to hand in a transfer request ffs. The only player I have ever seen tapped up as badly as this was Fabregas, and that was a f**king pisstake.

They may feel that there's nothing to answer. Bale always says he takes no notice of speculation and I'm sure that's what he's doing now. Most of it is made up and he shouldn't care less about what's written.

Didn't he die in the 1700s?
Haha! Think I died a little bit inside the day Berbatov was sold, only to be replaced by Frazer fucking Campbell, Shogun! And again when Saha and Nelsen rocked up that January! But hopefully things will be different this summer ...Fingers crossed mate!
