Cant play up front on his own, very poor link play, doesn't hold the ball up. He's a more clinical Defoe inside the area, and relies even more on service than JD - he can rifle in long shots and create his own chances (to an extent).

So, pass.
He didn't exactly set the world alight last season and you have to assume Fergie wouldnt have splashed 20mil out on someone he could get for free next summer if he though Rooney and Little Pea, not forgetting Welbeck, could do the job. On that basis he may be available, probably on loan, but like I said last year he didnt set the world alight and agree with the post above, he relies on service and think AVB wants his striker to be more involved than that.

There really are no excuses as soon as the Modric deal goes through.
Been a few grumbles re: Ade recently. Think people are discrediting him a bit due to familiarity. Sure, he didn't look as lethal as i'd hoped last year but his stats held up well, he's versatile across the front line, he knows the place and he's well, a top class centre forward whose effectiveness in a team with strategy and tactics can only be increased.
Really think he's the one we should nail down first, then Internacional can start wondering if they want to sell their player or not and Levy can have a punt at Bilbao. Either/or Leandro or Llorente and we're laughing.

Personally think we've got Ade in a holding pen at the Lodge, just kidding him along:

'Yeah, Ade, Daniel WILL be here soon he's just nipped out to er... Spain? He's gone to talk about er... mid-field-ers? Who? Um... someone from Atletico Mrmrmrmm. Say what? You didn't catch what I said? Is that the phone? Really must answer it! Might be Daniel... I know you're hungry... yep, juuuust gotta take this call...Ok? Be back in a bit, yeah? Remember to keep doing those exercises...Nothing to worry about, mate, OK? Okay...'

Er dont think so. The delay with the smiling cuddly bear is rather obvious, it is because of money (either Adebayor's wages or his payoff from City).

And do you seriously think with Tottenham's wage structure and our lack of Champions league football, Levy is stupid enough to waste his time and try to tempt Lorrente to come to Spurs.

I can just picture Levy telling Lorrente or his agent "Dont go to Juventus, although they can offer you champions league football, and a wage of 120K a week, come to Spurs, we will offer you Uefa Cup football and a wage of 35K a week plus a 100 quid bonus for every goal you score".

Yes Juve do have Champions League But they are part of a corrupt far inferior league If Llorente wanted a challenge he would want a Prem move we may not have the wage structure of Juve but we would offer him the best possible terms we could and show him the plan to make us a top 4 side...if we then missed out then we would have done our v.best ....But i believe if we went in strong for him we could COULD just nick him...im in an optimistic mood tonight ;)

Will be glad this saga is coming to an end. Loved Luka, loved the way he played, but if he doesn't want to be here then on your bike son and close the door on your way out and really hope the rumours of a threatened strike are false. He has gone to one of the biggest clubs of the world, has left the premier league, so not strengthened any our rivals and I am sure that the fee will be satisfactory (forget G. Ballbag and Sh1te sports).

I do hope we have a replacement in line and ready to come in and dont have to start negotiating as of now.
Its been hard keeping the faith over the past few weeks, esp with other clubs doing some business , but will refrain from losing it until the window closes.

Ps For all Arsenals bravado, signing Carzola, Giroud etc - they have truly shown where they are by selling to Man U - they are where we were a few yrs ago - they should just keep up their nomad tradition and move to manchester, would be a lot easier on their players when they graduate from their training academy to the 1st teams.

Juventus's highest paid player is Buffon, who makes 6m Euros/yr. We were reportedly willing to offer Ade about the same amount, maybe more. And even Levy can see that Llorente is a clear step up from Ade. Also Juve are going through some massive turmoil with the Serie A scandals, manager suspended etc. Don't write us off that easily.

I just don't get what Pull the Italian league has from a football point of view? its poor!! i would have thought the Attraction of the Prem would be far more a place to be to test yourself at the highest level instead of a league of corruption?
It has a pull because its not as laboured as the premiershio. Full of lazy players

We had some ITK that AVB sent scouts to watch Capoue (Toulouse) the other day. He's playing for France now on ESPN (came on start of second half).

Nothing wrong with optimism mate, but a bit of realism is needed. The Italian league maybe inferior and corrupt but their top teams (AC, Inter and Juve) are still the some of the biggest draws to world class footballers. Sadly bigger draws than us.

Remember Vucinic (very good player but not world class), when we were linked heavily to him and he was ready to leave Roma, he chose Juventus rather than us.

It's going to happen...it HAS to happen. At the moment I'm nervous, frustrated, but mostly excited. At this point in time we could still be on the verge of something special....or indeed something unpleasant.

Like I said in a thread in Spurs chat, I just cannot see Levy failing to support AVB. No point in bringing in a new manager and making him tread water until January because we are seriously lacking up-front.

Wow there is a lot of biggoted rubbish about the Italian league. The Italian league is getting better all the time. It has also been pretty exciting football wise as well. The recent scandle is nothing to do with football clubs and Juve still have a much larger draw then us, and however much I hate to say it they are also probably a better team then us.

He cheer up and chill, Levy's got this.

The smiling cuddly bear (bought at the New York JFK duty free), will be unveiled to us on the OS shortly, as soon as he can pass through customs.

Lorrente, Falcao and Hulk. Goodnight.

In top footballing countries ( such as Spain ) the premier league is seen to be on a similar level to serie A.
The pl isn't anymore prestigious and he stands a better chance of winning a league title with Juve anyway.
Add the fact that Juve are Italys biggest club and a giant within the world game and you can see why it's an attractive move for him.

It seems a few of us hear sky sports telling us the pl is the greatest thing ever created and start believing it!

Don't kid about, the PL is probably the bigger league in the World. It is watched worldwide, generates more cash than la liga, produces teams who constantly threaten or win the CL, and contains some of the World's biggest clubs. It's not sky selling it and us buying it, it is shown in the figures.

Sure. But La Liga is well above the PL in quality of football.
