Surely he's our Gil replacement/Deki rotation. We've got enough WBs, he'll play in attack more often than not imo

A lot better than the other names touted for our needs.

He has played around 328 games in his career.

272 of those games have been on the left hand side.

He has only played 29 games on the right hand side and I don’t think he’s ever played RWB.

He may be right footed but he has played almost exclusively on the left.

For that reason it makes no sense as Richarlison is the same, far better on the left.

We need a player who is more comfortable on the right to compete with and cover Deki.

As a footballer. As you say he's versatile, but he's no tea lady, or kit man.
I'm gutted to hear this....we've been looking for a new psychotherapist for the team and a new PA to book Paratici's appointments and thought he would be the answer to cover these roles too! ?

I remember seeing him as a Wb for Belgium a few years back and he was hopeless defensively. Seemed a case of Martinez trying to squeeze all his good players into the side. I’m sure he’s much improved positionally and technically if Simeone has had him doing that role for a few seasons since. Great on the ball for sure and I remember him knocking the goons out of Europe back in the day with Monaco.
Ok i'm sold as soon as you said he knocked the goons out ?

Interesting stats. I’m probably being thick but isn’t Moura our Deki rotation? And Carrasco will be our Son and Richy our Kane?

I wonder if a move for Carrasco is now potentially happening because of an 'unexpected' out which I believe @Trix alluded to - so looking squarely at someone like Doherty who wouldn't necessarily have been on our list to leave.

In any case, Carrasco is a quality player, proven pedigree and winners mentality - much like Perisic whilst also offering flexibility in what will be a demanding season ahead.

All for this!

This is the post I needed, not posts with formations of Carrasco just being shoehorned in, in place of our weakest player.

Thanks for the info.
