Do we really think ol Dennis Levy is going to give a 29 year old a 4 or 5 year contract? (Same problem with Zaha too)

Daniel Levy? No. Dennis Levy - Daniel’s twin brother with flowing blonde locks, no emotional connection to money and ready to step out of the cheese room his brother has locked him in for 2 years and into the limelight? You know, he just might.

Not that much different to giving 33-year-old Perisic a two-year deal on pretty big wages, no? If anything it's even more likely than Perisic.

In essence though, that’s just it. The club has already committed with a contract for an older player already, can’t see them being keen to offer many more contracts on big money to additional 29+ year olds.

I think it's more so the fee. If we have to pay circa £50m upfront because we have to activate a release clause I can understand the lack of appeal given most transfers are paid over time. I appreciate there are always going to be people that want us to pay the money and I'm sympathetic to that point of view but I think we've seen that if we don't agree with a valuation of a player (eg Gordon) we're not going to go overboard if we don't think it's value for money.

I'm not really sure where all this confidence Carrasco could be a 'world class' RWB comes from. He's barely played on the RW in his career, let alone as a RWB. Maybe Conte has had that conversation with him but one source said he doesn't like playing anywhere on the right.

Exactly. It’s just proves that half these people don’t even watch him play football. They just see a vaguely recognisable name and start shoehorning into the team because they’re desperate for any new signing.

Whichever attacking position we play him in he's an improvement on the squad's floor in terms of ability.

How convenient now agents just link their players to us and they will get a new contract ?
