We’re not spending that sort of money on a 29 year oldWhen this popped up I assumed it would be a season long loan or loan with option sort of deal.

Given his role would effectively be rotation for Deki, I can’t see us spending big bucks.

I don't believe for a minute that if we sign him he'll primarily play at WB. Just can't see it

Been one of Atleti's best players imo
I think he is a good player, but not even close to being one of Atleti's best. He has shown himself to be an unexpected option at wing back, but he still is rotated in and out of that squad. I watch a fair bit of Atleti, he is a strong runner, a bit predictable but a strong runner, but he´s not exceptional. I would take Correa over him any day.

One thing that's sort of hard to figure in all this is that Doherty is clearly one of Kane's best mates on the team. Hard for me to see us moving Doherty on right as we're hoping that Kane signs a new deal. Not to say that the one is dependent on the other, but the timing feels a little off. Very hard though to imagine us going with 4 RWBs, unless the idea is to plug Carrasco more into a variety of positions.
Agreed, this is why I can't see him coming in as a RWB. Imo, almost no chance Doherty or Moura leaves, not now. If they weren't in our plans they'd have gone last month.

Just to provide some statistics to that though, he was five times MotM last season for Atletico (joint top) with an average rating of 7.08 (top) according to WhoScored. So I would say he was at least a bit close.

The day we pay a release clause of £50m for a 29 year old is the day I really accept that Conte has got Levy firmly by the short and curlies.

Until now, Tottenham has offered a transfer with an obligation to buy Carrasco, conditioned by variables related to the player's performance and the fact that Spurs go to the Champions League. Atlético refers to the clause (60M). If Levy pays it, options are handled. I really like Dani Olmo.

Will cross off the loan with option/obligation square off my Spurs transfer bingo card

Starts on the bench tonight for them. Not a shock as he wasn’t expected to start

Spanish clubs always go on and on about the release clauses for their players and always end up selling them for less.
