Think about it from a players perspective though. Would you want your private conversations put out there for everyone to see? People moan about security cameras, devices in their homes listening to them and the Big Brother effect, players covering their mouths is just an extension of that.
Not to mention analysts for opposition teams working out set piece routines etc. They aren’t doing it for fun, and it’s obvious all players and coaches have been told to do it.

I have two Scottish sides. Firstly Celtic, and secondly, Morton, again. no idea why.
SOAP DODGING BASTARDS. Spent 5 years in Paisley (come on St Mirren) whenever Morton was mentioned it was always a natural reaction for everyone to shout SOAP DODGING BASTARDS. That is one thing that has always stuck with me.

See @Spurslove , there's ALWAYS someone on here at hand to give a word of encouragement.

It's often total bollocks, but it's the thought that counts!
I don't normally venture into this thread but decided to for some reason this morning to have a look and glad I did. @CoopsieDeadpool I had known your story but still touches me every time it is mentioned. sending both you and @Spurslove much love. I lost my wife in December which I have talked about in the "not doing that great" thread. I unfortunately didn't get to have as many years as you @Spurslove coming up to what would have been our 17th anniversary and 20 years being together. I hope both of you are doing as well as possible.

I hope like me, you have some amazing friends and family members around you and always bear in mind, that there is professional help out there should you need any specialist counselling. I draw on the love of those around me and believe you me, it's a massive help.

Blimey mate. All things considered, it sounds like you've found a perfect way to protect yourself from the horrors of the outside world and fair play to you for that. We may all disagree with each other on a variety of subjects but at the end of the day, we're all from the same family, the Tottenham Hotspur family, and the love of that football club is the thing which binds us all together, all over the world.

Your situation and mine are completely different. You have a strong handle on yours thankfully, but it's hard for me to come to terms with mine but it's very much a work in progress.

Back in February, I was banned from here for a week for a rule violation and two days after I was banned, I lost my wife Rosie, my much better half for 43 years so I'm still walking round in a bit of a daze to be honest. So many amazing people, including my brilliant friends and family are helping me deal with things, but I do understand it's a natural process, so I'm working through it gradually.

Football and particularly, the love of Tottenham is helping me no end and I'm probably more 'into it' than I've been for many years.

So sorry to hear about your loss. It sounds like you're doing quite well all things considered.

We wondered where you were in the Missing Members thread. It's good to have you back.

Many thanks. Good days, bad days. Been missing this place and my fellow yids. As I said earlier, back in Feb. I got a ban for breaking one of the boards rules, so I've promised myself not to get involved with the politics thread again! :ROFLMAO:

I'm including our own fans in this, but Ive noticed lately there is just a huge rise in conspiracism among football fans.

I find it fucking sad I really do, there's no higher power pulling the strings to stop your club winning matches, sometimes your team plays a bit shit, sometimes the ref is a bit shit, sometimes there's a bit from column A and a bit from column B...so stop being childish, grow the fuck up and accept it like a fucking adult.

And commentators & pundits (esp Carragher) insisting on calling Alexander Arnold purely by his Christian name.
It is even happening consistently in the print/online media. Should we crowdfund a deed poll so he can change his name to Alexander Arnold Trent?

Football commentaries have always done my head in, that's why I often watch games with the sound off. Today, I watched the wonderfully entertaining Championship play-off 2nd leg tie between Forest & Sheffield Utd. Early on in the match, one of the Sheffield Utd players tried to con the ref as they all do, by throwing himself down inside the area with absolutely no contact being made. I hate that. No penalty was awarded thank God, but the fucking match commentators said he'd 'gone down a bit easy' but what they should have said was 'He tried to CHEAT a penalty'.

Players really should be called out for cheating. So many players do it, some are better at it than others, but they should ALL be called out for what they are. CHEATS.

Players aren’t called cheats by commentators as it’s potentially slanderous to do so...which is why they have to stick to ‘gone down easily/minimal contact’...it’s all bollocks though, it’s obvious when it happens.

Or if it's Alan Smith and it's Arsenal it's "Streetwise"

Of course it is, especially when we all know damned well what we've just witnessed with our own eyes. This is one of the reasons I usually watch games in silence.
