I'm including our own fans in this, but Ive noticed lately there is just a huge rise in conspiracism among football fans.

I find it fucking sad I really do, there's no higher power pulling the strings to stop your club winning matches, sometimes your team plays a bit shit, sometimes the ref is a bit shit, sometimes there's a bit from column A and a bit from column B...so stop being childish, grow the fuck up and accept it like a fucking adult.

Do you think Lasagnegate was a coincidence?

i feel we are all fools if we believe there isn’t some bias in football. Whether clubs-refs or controlling bodies, sometimes discrimination, bias or cheating is there. Refs are got at and I believe we’ve seen evidence in WCs of refs making favourable decisions.

I guess it must be just coincidence that most of the posters who believe there are conspiracies involved in football, also believe there are conspiracies in other world events.

Weird that.

On the subject of biased commentary a reader‘s letter in the Mail today came up with a new match statistic:
Newcastle 70% possession
Arsenal 80% of the commentary

The sudden increase in pitch invasions is doing my head in. Yesterday for example when Everton scored their 3rd goal and there was still 7 minutes of time to go. I get that it is exciting, but fans shouldn't be running on the pitch. Happen in the Swindon v Port Vale play-off semi as well at the end, with some of the Swindon players being assaulted. Ridiculous.

Exeter city, final game of the season. Already gained automatic promotion, but the title was on the line. Exeter lost so finished 2nd.
After the final whistle there was a pitch invasion. It was all good natured as far as I'm aware but there has been evidence this week that it's not always the case.
I hope Vieira doesn't get punished and I hope Everton do.

Commentators etc just have to create a sub plot to every game.
It's not enough to comment on the game objectively, there must be some sort of soap opera type drama to go along with it.

I do agree with you but when thousands of people surge onto the pitch from every side, there's nothing the few stewards can do about it. I don't think anyone would advocate a return to people being caged in like animals.

If there's a proper more workable solution, I haven't heard it yet.

Zero tolerance. If anyone invades the pitch and are identified then they get a life ban from football grounds.

Doesn't matter if all they've done is run on the pitch because it still encourages the scum of society to think it's ok to physically and verbally abuse players and staff.

I’ve no problem with end of season pitch invasions. I’ve a problem with thugs like we saw at the forest game. The majority are just celebrating.

Yep, being on the pitch at the end of the last match at the old stadium is one of my greatest memories in football.

Fans - of all ages - are really badly behaved in the main at the moment. Fighting, racist chanting, lone pitch invaders, I have heard at lots of clubs where rowdy groups just commandeer their own seats at will and turf other fans out in the process, chucking things on the pitch, flares let off in the concourse/stand/pitch, and now the latest trend is to mass invade the pitch and then inevitably some will act the twat with incidents aplenty.

The main driver is that an ever increasing number consume a truckload of drink and drugs pre-game as the norm now. Answers on a postcard as to how you stop that...

Stewarding is a shit and thankless job and to screen tens of thousands of fans coming in is pretty impossible.... But when you see fans smuggling stuff eg. flares into grounds at will you'd suggest a better job could be done in this regard. And there are definitely quite a few fans who demonstrate pre-match they shouldn't be getting anywhere near proceedings but are waived through.

Of course you don't want to take the emotion and ability to celebrate out of the game, but I think there is ample opportunity to do that which doesn't involve storming the pitch and inevitably unsavoury stuff happening (and like fuck is this a new thing, I remember at Uni a Newcastle fan giving an anecdote about him and his mates invading the pitch and kicking/tripping an opposition player). I think the FA/PL need to take a lead really. Just make it clear that if you do then that club is getting docked points, closed stadiums, and/or thrown out of competitions. That would stop 99% of the antics.

Lately we've seen more and more flares being let off inside the grounds, and this really pisses me off.

When you go into a ground these days, you're searched. Any bottles you've got must have the tops removed for some bizarre reason, but it seems if you've got some flares with you, that's perfectly OK. Maybe they should start selling flares inside the grounds now.

WTF is going on out there FFS?

If they're going to search people, they need to get rid of the laser as well.

If a player has a laser in their eyes the game should be stopped immediately and if the person is caught banned from the stadium.
