Michael Owen really is awful. He is without doubt the thickest pundit out there and I include Jamie Redknapp and Robbie Savage in that. It’s shocking to be honest. I always had him down as an intelligent footballer when he was playing so it’s very strange that he comes out with complete nonsense.
Winning mentality comes from the fans? What a div!
“It transcends through the club”
Lol. The guy is trying to have an edge after years of being called boring. It’s embarassing really
You can find those kind of supporters in every club but we’re an easy target. Hargreaves unsurprisingly talks a lot more sense
Honestly, hand on heart. There's not a single word in the entire 4 minutes of that clip that I don't personally agree with.
Absolutely on the mark.

Absolutely agree with him. He has said nothing wrong in the slightest.Agree with Owen.
Fair enough.
I really fail to see how it can begin with the fans though.
To take it literally, surely that means fans of any club can inspire their team to trophies? That makes zero sense.
As regarding us. Well, we’re in a unique position of sort of challenging but not spending enough to actually challenge and anytime in the past 25 years when we’ve had a chance to do something, we’ve lost. Not only is it a bit strange to suggest our fans start suddenly believing we are going to win everything and act as such, but you can completely understand why a section of fans automatically think we will balls it up when it matters.
As always, everyone is overreacting, the media a fair amount on here etc
We were never in this title race imo, that’s based on the fixtures left before yesterday. We were not going to win at Chelsea, Liverpool and City. Then win the rest of our games. It’s a case of being talked up, whilst facing a virtually impossible task, only to be knocked down again when we fail.
Teams win trophies. Winning mentality doesn’t apply to fans imo. It really doesn’t make any sense to me. How can you be a successful fan? I’ve never got it.

Why is this optimistic when that was on his shirt?Best name on back of shirt ever "Y P LEE"
You won’t get any negs from me, I said pretty much the same about the scouse fans, fucking detest them, but they believe. We don’t, plain and simple. We need to shift thatI've been saying that for years, no more so when people hark on about this Spursy crap and keep calling us legends every time we lose a match, for example the other day someone referenced the fact that we've suffered some adverse 'Spursy' results over the years and somehow linking that to the Dortmund return leg saying oh we can't get carried away because of Lasagnegate.
I mean what the fek is that all about lol
This is exactly the kind of mentality shift that Poch constantly alludes to, I'll probably get negged for this but whatever - Liverpool fans as annoying as they are get behind their team and expect to win, which is why Anfield is a fortress and there's been times in big games for example where the fans have been nervous and IMO that negativity feeds into the players.
Sorry Owen is 100% correct on this one, if he can see it as an outsider then do should you.
It can start with the fans though. It’s a cliche I know, but the “12th man” makes a difference. We don’t always seem to have that. We get very nervy in the stadium, hopefully the new stadium will help.
Now I fucking detest Liverpool, really fucking detest them, but their fans always believe, and take that belief with them into Anfield
