Not sure where else to put this so soz if it is not the right area. Has anybody else received a survey questionnaire from Tottenham today? Their questionnaires are usually just for an idea on how well we remember their sponsors and I loose interest after page 1 and cut the link. However, this one is about the support, where we stand, do we sing, should they increase the singing area etc. Also what song would we like them to come out to and kick off to. I have just filled mine in and I must admit I struggled to think of a unique song that belongs to us that lifts all our fan base at ko. Other teams do have them and they make me jealous Liverpool and the noisy east london neighbours come to mind. I struggle to think of many bands that have an affiliation with Spurs but maybe an Adele song, or Flo and the Machine or even Klaxons (Golden Skans and It's Not Over Yet are pretty good) . But I do not get lifted by the two cockney boys getting all trembly so it is a struggle to find a song. If it wasn't a Tottenham supporting singer I really love the song Sometimes from James. I think it is a fantastic anthem song and would sound great being sung in our stadium. You could even change the words a little to fit it to Spurs ...something like "Sometimes, when I look deep in your eyes, I swear I can see your (soul) Spurs" I am not sure any other club uses it. Anyway it would be interesting to hear other peeps ideas and also for the season ticket holders to fill out the questionnaire. I also noted that the email it talked about the Spurs fan groups it had been in dialogue with... no mention of SC.
I put this in a grinding gears thread. I cannot stand teams that use pop songs to come out to. It really makes me cringe. Hi Ho Wolverhampton uuugh Hi Ho Sheffield Wednesday uugh.
De de de de, de de de de, de de de de Chelsea. Double uugh.

I understand your sentiment. Are you saying the team comes out to no music at all...just the roar of the crowd?

To my knowledge it has been Macnamaras band. It’s traditional and synonymous with the club.
They can always do their bit of classical music before the teams are announced. Nothing that goes on for too long.

So effectively popular music from another generation. I personally am not a big fan of those and want something that all the fans can sing along to. I find most of our songs boring and un-motivational as they fade too quickly.

Never mess with tradition.
Maybe it’s the new stadium and the new fans. The old White Hart Lane never had a problem with atmosphere.

Yes it did
Ok maybe for the West Brom or Burnley type games the atmosphere was poor. But if you think a pop song for the players to come out to is going to make the atmosphere better throughout the game. I’d seriously have my doubts.

Did I say anything about pop songs? I've been to games where the fans cheered a pigeon on the pitch, because there was nothing else to get excited about. The best atmosphere was always night games and I'm sure part of that was there were a lot less kids and tourists.

That's a great song, good choice. But not sure how it'd be as a football song.

What about Gonna Lose by Built to Spill?

Not one I know. But I’m not sure I want to sing a song with lose in the title. The song needs to be an anthem and Sometimes has this in spades. I remember the crowd singing this song as we left the Ali Palais and walking down the escalators onto the platform at Brixton station after they performed at The Academy. Goose bumps when the whole crowd singing it.
