The way everyone put their bodies on the line for 90 minutes and fought as a team was great and everyone worked brilliantly as a team. That’s the kind of character we need, especially in games like these.
There is big spirit in the team. When you go out on the pitch you feel that everyone wants to fight for each other – we’ve built this special dressing room atmosphere. If you’ve got that atmosphere like we did today then we can do something special this season.
...manger to coach players...
Well, actually, no: no one said this kind of thing last season. That's the kind of thing people said every week or two prior to Redknapp's departure. No one has said it since.
But still, no one said this kind of stuff last season, nor really the season before. It was more of a po-faced 'there is a good atmosphere in the squad ... really' kind of thing.
If this is what Pochettino's style of man-management achieves, then we do have some hope that we have found a manager who can combine Redknapp's skill in handling players with AVB's detailed tactical approach.
Let's see how it goes, but this is very encouraging.
That is a complete and utter disregarding of the truth.
I am not going to waste time searching for quotes, but I remember Lewis himself saying almost the same thing when AVB was in charge. Kyle Walker, Hugo, Michael and even the departing Tom Huddlestone all said similar.
The only player whom I recall making really enthusiastic comments was Bale in his last season with us, but he was only ever referring to his own relationship with AVB, which was obviously very beneficial to his development, not to the team as a whole.
If this is what Pochettino's style of man-management achieves, then we do have some hope that we have found a manager who can combine Redknapp's skill in handling players with AVB's detailed tactical approach.
It wasn't beneficial to the team as a whole?
You are deluded.
He only carried us to our highest ever points total in the Premier League...
Lewis Holtby should be on those O2 "Be more dog" adverts.

You're an obnoxious sort, aren't you?
You seem to be confusing me with some of the adolescent, over-reactive fuckwits who hang around here, who either hate a player or manager or love him - and ignore everything that doesn't fit their preconceived view.
Don't.
