My arguement for us not signing ay is harry seems to sign the exact players we need each window. So why would we spend 19 mill and villa will want that on ay when we have players who can play his pos. However he would add another genuine pace option can play oft or right and under harry he would become top draw.

Lets look at the facts in front of us:

1.HR has been interested in Ashley Young for a year of more now, in fact last year making it known that Young was his top target.

2. Keane, despite his goals in pre-season is not the player he used to be and at his age that aint going to change. Whats more Keane has cost us nothing after the Liverpool money.

3. Jenas needs to be sold. He has no book value at Spurs and offers nothing value wise to the team.

4. Bentley, well, I would like that he stayed but maybe HR has seen enough that he's prepared to let him go and we need to recoup as much money as possible from his sale.

5. Assuming those three were to go, they would certainly free up a combined wage of probably 140k per week.

6. Equally if we could get shot of all three to one buyer, we could get good value, be it cash or cash plus a player. Remember that to THFC, Keane and Jenas have no book value....

Seems a bit harsh - last year we needed a CB so we got Bassong. Woodgate then got injured so we needed another CB in January and we got Kaboul.

IMO our squad is very balanced so HR must have got something right (the fact we finished 4th also suggests he got it right)

He's an awful lot better than Young, but I'd pass because of his fitness. I don't think Bellamy's got more than 30 games left in him (i.e 15 a season for 2 years).

as i said in another thread, his average is closer to 30 with internationals included.

Keane Jenas and Bentley are worth 30m in total. Man City will sign Milner from for 30m.. However the problem of selling these 3 for 30m is clubs will add millions more on our targets. So the best option is to do some sort of trade. Young plus 10m should be demanded. That 10m could then be spent on Richards and Bellamy. Young Bellamy and Richards for Keane Jenas and Bentley improves our squad but only slightly

Seems like an opportune time to remind everyone on the rules of the transfer window

Remember, calling someone a cowboy could offend our favourite squaw, TwoBigTits (aka Netty), and as this has now turned into spam I'm going to chastise myself whilst you lovely lot get back to discussing this disappointing piece of ITK.

I hardly post I like reading peoples opinons but i cant hold it in anymore Bentley is a banger he is as fast as my granma if he was so good why does no one want to buy him his CROSSES ARE AVERAGE HES TECHNIQUE IS AVERAGE AND HE CANT TACKLE TO SAVE HIS LIFE AND HES SCORING RATE IS LOW. Please explain to me what is so good about him why everyone wants to keep him
keane has to go he had 2 decent seasons with berbatov but he still never got 20 league goals he is so rubbish liverpool took a 7 million lost on him bought him in the summer and sold him in the winter if your good teams dont do that and we only got him cause defoe got injured we needed a striker. Jenas first touch and vision for a england international is criminal he has to go hutton i,m not going to bother. Please lets stop being bias they are not good if they was we would,nt be selling them unless its a lot of money or a contract is running down. ROBBIE KEANE OVERATED BY SOME TOTTENHAM FANS AND IF U DISAGREE BACK YOUR TALK WITH LEAGUE GOALS AND ASSIST HES RUBBISH.
Sorry rant over had to get it of my chest.

What a coherent rant. I especially enjoyed the part about the stuff.

If we got 30m for those 3 i would be more than delighted!

IMO none of them are worth 10m+ - there previous fees are now irrelevant and at the end of the day they are all players who are not good enough for a top 4 club and none of them are young and up and coming. I would take 8m for each of them

Ah, so you're a stats only man, huh?

That Danny Rose kid has an incredible goals-per-game average in the league, he should start every game, imo

maybe you should just stick to reading the forum then because Keane was voted player of the season before Berbatov arrived.

Re the goals thing - does that mean you think Darren Bent is better than Torres, Defoe, Tevez, Adebayor and Berbatov? Reason i ask is that he scored more goals than them last season.......

Keane, Bentley AND Jenas for £25m ? lol what planet are they living on.

I think thats a reasonable valuation TBH.

I would accept Jenas 6m, he doesn't start and will be 5th choice CM next season possibly.

Bentley 12m, as a squad player not a bad amount of money for him.

Keane 7m, again a pretty good amount of money for him now.

There is a bit of loss in there, but there always is in a bulk buy! And remember, thats three squad players we would find hard to sell and would have to keep in our 25 man squad, as well as three wages we have to pay, and we could have one player who would be pushing for a starting place (IMO none of our three will be).

Seems like a fair swap to me when you consider all of it, despite me not being the biggest fan of young

Robbie keane is so good liverpool sold him after 6 months and took a 7 million hit.
I think sunderland are happy with there purchase of DB money well spent if you ask me.

He does,nt offer much in the game so i was hoping his league goals and assist would prove that he has something to offer.

F*ck me Milli - you've prompted me to make my first ever post. I've read a lot of nonsense since I've been a member of SC but really... I'd stick to just reading if that's the best input that you've got.

Bentley - what on earth is a banger?!?! I get the implication but come on - the bits in bold kind of explain where you're coming from though I suppose but he has proved his mentality to a lot of people by coming back from the scrap heap. He was not going to feature for us at all but Lennon getting injured meant that he had to step up - Redknapp took a gamble and played him and he didn't let us down in the slightest. He wasn't the best player on the pitch in the majority of games but he worked hard as part of a WINNING team. If someone like that is happy to be part of a squad then I think we're doing alright (but I would pick a fit Lennon any day of the week).

Keane - how long have you been watching Spurs? The man, whatever you think of him (and personally I think his time is pretty much done with us), has been sheer class for Spurs. Think how you felt about him as a player before the Liverpool saga - do you not think that you are writing off everything that he did before that whole fiasco? Look at his whole period with us since joining from Leeds and he has been an undoubted highlight amongst the average players that I've endured.

I'm not Jenas' biggest fan either but he has done a job for us over a lot of years now - I suspect 90% of fans would not have him in the first XI but neither would Harry. If we can upgrade, we will. If not, then he remains a squad player. I don't understand the hate towards players like Jenas - if the CLUB can improve on him then they will - no question. Until then, he won't play a massive part but, when needed, we will need him to perform so shouldn't we be a bit more supportive? Up until recently he was the best that we had so he played - now he's not, so he won't.

Hutton - I'm glad that you didn't bother.

Mods - you can ban me if this is too aggressive but seriously I would kick people like that straight off the site. What a load of utter b*llocks - I would be embarrassed to put my name to anything like that and if it had any punctuation it would probably be even more painful.

Though maybe if I put a smiley face no-one will notice the gist of my post and I can go back to reading some valuable ITK instead (I wish I didn't buy into everything that I see on that board)...
