I think that Lennon is a better player than Yong in every way- except that Young is a more instinctive goal scorer. I am not talking stats here, not number of goals, but the evidence of the eye - whenever Lennon doe sscore it is like he has to stop, look up and compose himself, whereas Young can just hit the blal in his stride and find the net.

I would rather have Lenon but some of the goals and set piece deliveries/crosses of Young is MUCH better

So you used stats which showed Young was certainly better in 2007-8 (which weren't needed, we all knew this) and attempted to show all of Arsenal players were but now he isn't actually better. Therefore, such use of stats can just be twisted in whichever way you fancy. Quite easy to change opinions and never be wrong then isn't it?

Sorry if I caused any confusion there. I much prefer Lennon, which is why I said he was better in every other area...just that Young looks the more natural finisher:)

This thread will be closed at some point.

Its been left open so you can filter into the new/old format.
The Daily discusion thread is now back, and you can discus whats been said by the ITK's in there. Also the Transfer Rumour Form is still about to discus the players individual.

Enjoy

You may be referring to these posts:

Both of which I used stats to compare Young and Lennon (and others) but in neither of which did I say I prefer or think Young is a better player, because I know there is more to any footballer than bare stats and have always said this. It seems in your effort to score silly little points you have been very selective in your memory of what I say and my use of stats.

Just for the record, here are a couple of other posts going back to previous seasons in which I state clearly I don't want Young.

'My effort to score silly points'....what like your excavation of one single ITK which is at best ambiguous and tenuously supports your assertion that Lennon has an attitude problem?

No, I was just confused. From reading the above posts, it seemed you rated Young higher than Lennon. Then in others you categorically do not. Fair enough, but I think in an effort to puncture some OTT praise of Lennon you exaggerate his faults to the point of farce; ie he is not intelligent, he is 95% pace and use unfair comparisons with players who are either totally different (Modric) and/or play in far superior teams (Malouda, Nani and about half of Arsenal's team) and whom I showed were, in fact, not statistically superior to Lennon anyway.

The reason I was selective was the whole point. As sometimes you have used stats to suggest one is better and others to suggest the opposite.

I find bus conductor so clueless I've come to the conclusion that his posts don't merit a response anymore.
