All I have to say is that I was going to get up early on Saturday anyway, so I get to enjoy the whole thing. Still not sure if that's a good thing or not. I really hate all the arse licking that happens on TV, even more so when it involves fucking Liverpool.

Klopp this you fuckers.

I wouldn't bother. I'm sure BT sport will be nice and unbiased with Michael Owen on commentator duty and probably McManaman in the studio. At least we will have GHod to fight our corner!

I hate the build up to football nowadays. It's all hyperbole and adverts.

Given the missing players we have and Liverpool having the alleged modern day messiah, I think they'll nick this one. New manaher syndrme etc. Which isn't the end of the world.

What I cannot bear is the inevitable Liverpool press love in that will follow. It's bad enough as it is.

Same here, I won't turn it on until the game is about to start.

Has any team ever faced another team with this level of new manager "bounce" in the history of football?

The bigger they come the harder they fall. This level of hype can only end in disappointment.

Depends which way you look at it. Normally a team has a new manager once they are in free-fall, confidence gone, lost a lot of games, and the release and relief comes out on the pitch. Im not sure this is the same with this current Liverpool team. They sacked there manager for a better one, but they were not doing too good because the team is too good

Lack of CM defensive cover through Dier will be telling. I don't think our back four can handle the direct pressure. My feeling is that we will win this but it will be a tough game.

@BenSmithBBC: Jurgen Klopp: "We play against a very good PL team in Spurs. They are fine tuned. We know how they want to play."

Really?

I quite enjoyed Fletch and Sav at times last season but they really pissed me off before the Spurs v City game by having Piers Morgan on the phone just to give a load of abuse to Alan Sugar.

Firstly, I don't want Alan Sugar representing Spurs fans. Anyone who has ever followed him on Twitter will know he's a complete tosser in his views of the team and is as kneejerk as any child. Secondly, they knew they were going to have more Spurs fans watching them than any other club's fans that morning due to the fixture that followed, and yet they thought it appropriate to devote air time to a Gooner so loathsome that even other Gooners hate him just trying to wind up a Spurs fan (and a large portion of their audience at the same time).

As soon as they said they had Morgan on the phone I thought 'fuck it' and turned over. They're clearly oblivious to the fact that the any viewers they have is in spite of Robbie Savage and his 'banter' rather than because of it, and are keen to emulate the likes of Adrian Durham and Talksport. It's a bum move.

This week will be the worst ever for biased coverage. From the very off 2 years ago BT have deliberately targeted Liverpool and Man Utd fans by weighting their coverage very heavily in their favour. Hopefully our players will notice how much they are overlooked in the build-up to the game and go out with a chip on their shoulder and fired up, determined to make sure the hype around Klopp ends there and then.

Great.

Being reported that Son, Mason, Bentaleb are not back for Saturday.

Guess the CM options are Alli with either Carroll, Dembele or Winks. None of which fill me with confidence to be quite honest. Probably be Dembele, which is probably right- but his defensive positioning/covering is shocking and his reluctance to release the ball can render quick turn overs in possession pointless sometimes.

Guess we could have worked on Toby or Verts in CDM- with Wimmer slotting in, but that would break up a blossoming defence. With a makeshift midfield, i'd prefer to keep the defence familiar...

With Son out, i'd consider Clinton in for Chadli behind the striker... with Eriksen and Lamela.

So Son, Bentaleb and Mason are out.

Fuck.

We need to play Toby at DM or Dembele and Alli as a midfield 2.

Carroll will probably start though. Wrongly.

I'm quite sure we'll stick with the setlled CB partnership of Toby and Verts, especially as Fazio had a mare in the NLD and Wimmer is also left-sided (like Jan) so Wimmer and Verts wouldn't be a natural partnership. Also I don't like the idea of compromising the back 4 to only do a patch-job on the midfield.

Dembele is trusted by Pochettino even though he hasn't found his best role in the team, so I'll be surprised (and annoyed) if we give Carroll the nod over Dembele to start alongside Alli.

It's a cluster fuck though. Mason's slow recovery from what looked like just a heavy bang to the knee makes me think there is something more to the injury which may not yet have been discovered. Its beginning more and more to resemble those injries which appear innocuous but end up requiring an operation and 3 months out to sort properly.

Think we're in trouble this game. No Son negates a lot of our attacking improvements and threat in behind, and no Dier blows a hole in our solidity, and I'm really not sure who's going to deal with Coutinho playing in the hole.

Son being out doesn't scare me as such now we've got Eriksen fully fit, but the hole that we have protecting the defence and closing down space in the midfield by not having either Dier nor Mason available is likely to be our undoing. It will certainly see us have less of the ball than usual so we need to be more clinical than we have been lately.

Regardless of the Klopp effect, i am very concerned about this game purely down to our injuries. I just dont see how we have the right players to control the game. In CM we look incredibly week without Dier, Mason or Nabil and the lack of Son and a likely tired Lamela takes away our two of our most important attacking players. Added to that Liverpool always seem to think they can get a win against us. Personally, the most i can see us getting out of this game is a draw and wouldn't be at all shocked if we loose.

This is just the sort of situation that should open doors for Josh Onomah and Harry Winks or even Milos Veljkovic to get first team chances, it's time to be brave.
