My main fear, and that's a good post btw, is that Levy has this all worked out and his failure to sack Poch as of yet signifies he's got the season to get things back on track. In all likelihood it's too late for this season. 4th place averages about 2 points per game, which would mean we'd need about 2.3 points per game from here on out to make it. That would be better than our best ever PL season when we got to 86 points - we've got to go from the last ten months of being a side in near-relegation form, to a title-challenging side overnight. The only other hope is that it's a low points total this year i.e. at least one of Leicester or Chelsea drop off significantly while both Arsenal and United remain poor, and then we only have to start playing like a Top 4 side ourselves. It's largely out of our hands because we've waited too long - you can't win things in the first ten games, but you can sure as hell lose them.
As you say top 4 will require almost title winning form for the rest of the season...so this season is basically a write-off, and we could have another 7 months of this shit to suffer before we see any changes.
Great.
