It’s only ridiculous because you’re stuck in the past. Right now in May of 2023 we are a mid table club with no manager. Our best player is going to leave. we have no director of football. We have no direction, and a clown leading us. The blind leading the blind, or should I say the bald leading the bald.

We are shit. We are worthless. We are the easily the most disappointing club in Premier League this season.

I cannot feel anything but deep pain and despair when talking about Spurs.
It has been a horrendous season....our fitness coach passed, we have had terrible luck with injuries, our manager pissed off and humiliated our players in public, our DOF was charged. Any team would struggle under those conditions.
I fail to see the logic of firing Mourinho days before a cup final when we had no replacement lined up. The only possible explanation is that they wanted him gone, and were actually afraid he would WIN the game and make kicking him out a little more awkward. That is scandalous.

I fail to see the logic of firing Conte 10 games before the end of this season rather than let him see out his contract, just because he had the audacity to call out this bunch of players. It's embarrasing that the club ran to protect the precious players from the nasty man who called them names. When you see the absolute dross we have served up since he left, it is a miracle that he kept this squad in the top 4 for most of his tenure. Wouldn't it have been interesting if we had actually backed him properly, given him the time he was clearly willing to spend?

The football was horrible at times, I get that, but it was great at the end of last season. They are both defensive managers working with defenders who simply cannot defend. What the hell are they supposed to do with that situation? Conte couldn't have had a more difficult season personally, and then losing a key player like Bentancur really turned the tide against him. How different might things have been if we had actually brought in the CB he needed and demanded. The money wasted on Spence and Danjuma could have gone a good way to fund that.

I like Slot, he is one of many good canditates out there, but let's not kid ourselves, we've just thrown away European football having tossed aside two great managers who would certainly have secured it for us. Both are defensive and pragmatic, true, but perhaps we are seeing that this really was the only way with a squad that is simply way below the competition. It doesn't matter who we bring in, this squad needs a complete overhaul and this club needs a complete overhaul in how it is run, from top to bottom. I won't hold my breath
I agree with you on Mourinho - Conte had to go, there really was no other choice.

14 consecutive years in Europe about to end. Can’t imagine our team having the stomach to pull off a result at Leeds either their crowd up for it

The concern I have is the last few years have severely pissed off this fan base, almost broken it in my opinion. Whoever we bring in is going to need serious patience and a lot of time. I remain unconvinced that if we were 8th, 9th at Xmas because we’re in rebuild mode that the fan base won’t be kicking off again making Levy take the easy distraction option and sacking another manager.
I think the difference now is almost all fans can clearly see where the problem lies.

Even the most ardent BSODL, and I have stuck up for Levy many times over the years myself, cannot deny that responsibility for the past few years falls on our Dear Daniel.

We ARE pissed off as a fan base. The players, the managers, each of them deserve a share of our ire but ulitmately it is the man that bought those players, appointed those managers and failed, failed, failed in every footballing aspect for half a decade that is responsible.

GK, CBs and LB major problems.

They tried to target Royal first half and got very little joy. Second half was just a clusterfuck. We never came out.
They overloaded against both of our full backs second half. Emerson & Davies got zero support from Son & whomever was RWF.
Brave and bright from Frank.
Mason did nothing to react.
But the attitude and work ethic second half was truly appalling, sums this group of players up right now.

I've tended to side with Levy more than most. Find myself defending him often on here but I am really losing patience.

I think we can salvage something from this mess with the right manager and DOF appointments and the right signings in summer. We have a very good base to build from unlike a Brentford or a Brighton, or even a Newcastle....but they are all big ifs.

I'm feeling very apathetic about things at the moment. The club is in a shitty spot. Just hope we can pull it together but if we can;t, this is 100% on Levy. Buck stops with him.

You're acting like he's a fan who won a competition. He's still a footballer who represented our club this season.

Anyway I'm curious, what would you have done to win? Who would you have subbed on instead? I didn't see Messi on the bench, so who would have won us that game?

Would you not have thought Richarlison would have been the better choice for us to try and win the game though?

Conte is hugely responsible for this.
Lol …we probably would’ve got top 4 with Conte…despite the rubbish football

Truth is that he was right on all fronts….How many managers have these players failed.Managers who have success everywhere they go…except for us. Jose is about to likely get his second trophy since leaving us….despite many of us complaining he was a dinosaur manager etc.

Poch,Nuno, Jose and Conte all realised it….albeit after their egos of hoping they could be the solution

The Levy model we have works exceptionally for the owners and shareholders but is not for football …bit like our privatised railways and water companies….Enic now have a problem because the fans have now realised this….next move on the chess board will Ben interesting

Have to hope Harry is only set on breaking Shearer’s record now and feels his best chance is in a settled environment.

Battling for eighth with Brentford FFS. If City have wrapped the title up I think they nick it cos we'll tank at Leeds.

Missed todays game for golf, looks like a good decision from what I have read here. My hatred for DL is getting near dangerous levels, might combust, close the door on your way out Levy
