Oh god, it sounds like echoes of this ... except we managed to dodge a huge bullet that night:

Memorable yet stressful night for all Spurs fans everywhere. :)

I don't think it's a coincidence that after a poor show last weekend he is playing Lamela and Capoue tonight. Need some confidence building.

Happy to see Ade playing tonight as it hopefully means Soldado will start on Sunday. He did well against Citeh and I'd like to see him get a proper run with our first choice attack. Kane will do well in the number 10 role, I'm sure.

Lamela or Andros on the left, I wonder? Townsend should be on the left, IMO. He should be encouraged to get in behind the full back, and even if he cuts in his right footed shots are more bloody accurate anyway!

i thought the same before besiktas but that turned out to be 442 with kane up alongside soldado.

There's a lot of movement, and they very well may end up in a flat shelf even as we did for the first half against Arsenal with Chadli more playing parallel and in an even spread with Ade rather than wide left. Nonetheless, it will undoubtedly be Kane's responsibility to check to more and also to likely rotate with the wide players. Will be interesting to see how it works out.

Ya but surprised not to see Benji and vorm, Benji will get subbed on guess whoever performs out of him and Etienne will start weekend. Lloris is just too good to not start I suppose Lol. Paulinho looks to have been spursed..will come good at another club no doubt. Shame cuz I bought his kit, I'll still hold hope for him coming good here, I mean he's been forced to play as an AM with Andros and Lennon most this year, not like he's had the support to perform

It really is unfair on him. Poch played him as a RM, completely out of position and he does badly because he's not used to playing there.

Then, seemingly, Poch says "OK, you're not good enough for even the EL bench anymore".

A bit ridiculous really IMO

Or he is not doing the business in training either. But don't let that get in the way of your theory ;)

I would have loved Paulihno to be a success but admire the balls that Poch is showing. He is imposing himself on the players and showing that no one is safe.

We are not a charity, I have no doubt that should Paulinho get his mojo back he would get his chance.

Slowly but surely Poch is showing signs that he could be around for a very long time. I am really warming to him.

That's a very good point and I hadn't made that connection. Very likely right here.

As for the rest, I'm hoping Townsend on the left. I think he's better on the right, but Lamela on the left is a stunning waste of his talents. Townsend has more pace as is, and if a player is to play on their "traditional" side as a winger in the modern game, I think it's very important they have pace. Lamela doesn't have the incisive pace, but he does he good creativity moving from wide on his strong foot. I'm hoping to see a lot of rotation between Kane, Townsend, and Ade, with Lamela pulling the strings from his just wide of center position.

Interesting to see Capoue starting, could Stambouli be in line for his debut against Newcastle perhaps?
