I haven't seen anything of him at all but it seems a lot of people are 50-50 about him. We maybe looking for two keepers rather than just one.

I would prefer we spent 4.5million to bribe the FA and Premier League to bring back the footballs they were using in 2005. Robbo liked them.

Surely if anything this is robbo's redeeming factor, he has made some fantastic saves lately.

wuuut? you must be crazy, Robbo has the worse stats for long range mid-height shots in the world quite possibly, i think the stat i heard is he's let in more long rangers this season than any over keeper in the prem's let in, in the last two seasons, how you can say it's his only redeeming factor is beyond me Eek Robbo has been shocking for longer than two years now, cant wait to see him dumped.

Personally I'm worried if Kameni came to Spurs, not of his abilities but for being a Black/African goal keeper. An element of our fans (those that sing that ridiculous song about Adebayour and constantly fault Zokora when others in the team get away with blue murder) would find it very hard to associate to him, like they do with Robinson.

The fans still love to sing that song... England's No.1 etc even when its not warranted.

From what I've seen of Kameni he could play for a Champion League Club and would probably hold out for one.

Are you saying that you believe some of our fans don't particularly rate Zokora as a player because he is African?

An element is the word used.

This was also the case I found with Atouba and Kanoute when he decided to play for the country of his father.

(I'll except I could well be wrong but I'm beginning to see a pattern)

looks to me like its about favourites, if some other players play poor they don't get the same treatment as Zokora does, not to do with African just he is not a 'favourite', but I could be wrong

if thats the case I agree, some players do get off lightly ( Steed, Chimbonda ) comes to mind

edit* looks like I was wrong

I'm really looking forward to having Kameni next season. I haven't seen a lot of him (I'm curious btw, to know how people feel they've the knowledge to criticise as I'm pretty certain that barring our Spanish members I'll have seen as much or more of him than anyone else (it's my job to watch football) and I know that I haven't seen enough to judge), so it's not the kind of itk optimism that greets the signing of some players, but he seems a bit of a nutter and I reckon he'll bring a smile to the face. Club's need that sort of character imo.

No I disagree with you, theres no way our fans will get on Kamenis back just because he is African. If he makes a couple of costly mistakes however

what the fuck, seriously, what the fuck

the fans sing robbos name because he plays along and is very responsive to us, no keeper will ever match that, not a white guy, black guy or even a friking kangaroo

some of our fans do not respond to zoko because they do not feel he contributes to the team all that well, not because hes black your looking into the wrong places,

This was also the case I found with Atouba and Kanoute when he decided to play for the country of his father.

With regard to Kanoute, the only racist incident I can remember was when our manager Pleat apparently asked the first team squad if any of them knew where Mali was? This was directly after Fredi had decided to play for his father's country, and was arguably intended to humiliate Kanoute in front of his teammates. This was petty Little Englander stuff which, I'm afraid, Pleat has always been rather good at.

Now, a lot of Spurs fans, myself included, were p*ssed off that having signed Kanoute as a French player, he then decided to opt for Mali and booger off to the ACN halfway through the EPL season. I believe his agent had assured the club this would not happen. However, I entirely respect and support the right of a footballer to play international football for the land of their ancestors.

Can't belive what I'm reading here.
Kameni surely has been one of the 4 keepers in Spain over the last years (alongside valdes, casillas and palop). His reflexes are just crazy and he is rated very high in spain. Even Valencia are trying to sign him.
And believe me, as a big fan of spanish football I've seen him quite often. He HAD his faults, when he was younger, but is playing very solid in his last 2 seasons.

we won't get a better keeper for that price. we even won't get any better.

IF we signed him I would be slighty worried about him disappearing to ACN every 2 years as feel especially for the goalkeeper position this would be very disruptive.

However, if Ramos wants him we should try and get him and to be honest I can't think of any other options available to us in regards to bringing in a new face.

I still would call myself a Robbo supporter, but he is yet to truly convince since coming back into the side, which is a big shame as at one point a couple of years back it would be blastfamy to even discuss selling him as he was in the top 2 or 3 keepers in the prem.

Our very own Bruce Grobbelaar how nice. Or is it our own very mad Barthez. Finding a better keeper than Robinson is a lot easier said than done. I am not for one moment saying we should not try, but we must tread very carefully. We could easily end up with some Muppet a lot worse than Robbo, and he goes on and stars for Villa, or Man City, or some such team. Good solid keepers with few flaws are very, very rare. This is a huge decision and it just has to be got right. Diego Lopez would be my pick but what do I know. Its a lottery.

Totally agree with that - can't see the need for this ANC tournament to be every 2 years, either.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see...
I trust that Ramos will make some very good signings in the summer and that whichever goalie he signs (and we all know he is going to sign one) they'll be better than an underperforming Paul Robinson.

Still a shame his form has deserted him so badly though!
