you really cant judge a guy by the ACN, like others have said. no defense, no discipline on those sides. its fun to watch, though.

To be fair to him, in the ANC his team mates didn't really bother to do much defending, nobody did.

I think his performances for Espanyol would represent a better yard stick, none of which I've seen.

To be fair to Robbo, for 95% of this season our defence hasn't bothered to do any defending but he has still been slated!

Don't know enough about Kameni to make a judgement but it can't do much for Robbo's confidence for the rest of this season if he knows he is a gonner.......

of course he does. he's black.

anyone new to the site really wouldn't get the pathos of this. Especially some Cameroon floating fans logging on to pitch a tent in the Spurs community for the duration of thier goalies stay at hotel Tottenham.

I'm sorry but Robbo usually makes at least one mistake a game. Last night he parried Drogba's shot and Cole scored from a slighlty offside position. The goal was ruled out, but the mistake was still there.

personnally i don't beleive the story.

To replace Robbo and Cerny we'd have to be sure we were getting better. Kameni (and i have seen him in la Liga and ACN) has enough faults to cast resonable doubt over him being better than robbo. for a start, his kicking is nearer Cerny's quailty than Robbo's.. i think we sometime underestiamte the value of an accurate goal kick and Robbo stand head and shoulders about most of the muted replacements.

I still think Amiela of the ones seriously linked, is the best and Frey obviously is the best of the ones not seriously mentioned. Milan will get Frey though.

I am with Stoof on this based on ACN! Hopefully this isn't true. We should and we can do better!

I will be amazed if we sign an all singing all dancing super keeper this summer. It's an extremely tough position in which to recruit and quality keepers are few and far between.

Let's see, in the Premiership Utd are fairly happy with Van der Sar but how many catastrophes did they endure before Fergie signed him? Cech and Reina are both solid.... but who else would we happily have between the posts? I'm certainly not saying Robinson is the ideal goalkeeper but I'm having difficulty imagining who would be an affordable, top drawer alternative who would consider coming to us.

The crazier the better. I like talented mental keepers.

We are a team that accomodates flair and won't punish the occasional mistake - we are a flair team, not a results team.

If this guy is anything like James we've gotta get him (at the right price).

The problem with Robbo is that he no longer makes great saves, and is still unreliable.

On another note i think Gomez would be a great signing for us..

Surely if anything this is robbo's redeeming factor, he has made some fantastic saves lately.

This is a very good point, there isn't that many top top keepers around at the moment and if you watch football first, MOD or any other coverage then its clear that loads of teams are having keeping problems.

If we do replace Robinson I would personally like to see us go for Ben Foster, I think that he is a very good keeper (despite Robbo doing him from about 2 miles away).

:-? Oh good, another inconsistent mental keeper.

Anyone who watched more than 10 minutes of the African Nations Cup could tell you that. I'm not convinced the grass is greener on this one. I'm really not.

:? describes it for me.

Totally agree. He looks classy for Espanyol based on the long term confidence he has developed with the squad, specially the back 4. But sometimes he looks incredibly unworried about long distance shots which end up coming so close. I'm pretty sure, if he effectively ends up playing for us, he will be conceding a couple of screamers like Campos' last season (opener?) at Bolton.

Good choice for the price, but would still bring in someone else like Amelia so there is a strong competition for the Number One jersey. Or maybe just Robbo, who knows...

In the end, I haven't seen any better lately than Gomes from PSV. Maybe we could get him in a deal involving YP Lee, it seems they want him back.

I think its unbelievably sad that Paul Robinsons form has gone down the pan the last couple of seasons, coupled with a bit of bad luck it would seem a shame to see him go :-( however at the end of the day its about the team thats most important & if it means bringing in someone thats always of top class pedigree then i'm all for it.

kameni was shit in the ACN in Ghana this year. not that good in Spain either - dont like him and highly doubt his goal keeping skills. seems to have no clue whatsoever at times. I'd do away with him..money would spent for nothing...
