I wouldn't be super calm, until he's signed up who knows what might happen. The last couple of years we've lost Azzaoui and then Kirby for example, plus we know the clubs stance on players who are running down their contract. Anything is possible.

For me it's a perfectly normal situation.Hes 18 the club must have had big question marks over him.one being his size and if that was gonna be an issue. To be in this situation is probably exactly where the club wanted to be .They were never gonna offer him a 5 year contract at 17.Even now id imagine it will be 3 years at most until he truly proves himself. If it gets past xmas and nothing's happened contract wise I might get concerned.

OGILVIE PENS DEAL

Tottenham defender Connor Ogilvie has signed new two year contract and immediately joins Gillingham on a season long loan, according to Sky sources.

Can only assume it's to guarantee the club a fee as there is no way Ogilvie is breaking into the senior side. I can't really see Ogilvie's motivation to sign unless it somehow aided his exit. So I'm imagining he faced the dilemma of sitting out his current deal from the stands or signing a new deal with a guarantee that he could leave on loan with a permanent move for a fee at the end of it.

having a player down to the last year of their contract is never a position a club wants to be in, unless it's a player they can't wait to get rid of. onomah was in the same position as edwards at the same age and he got a four year deal so no doubt the club will be wanting to tie him down to a similar contract. even roles is on three years, as are a few others i'd assume.

When do the first year scholar profiles usually go on the website? Should be relatively soon I expect?

I'm putting this in here in the hope that Marcus Edwards starts. England v Germany is live on Eurosport 1 at 4:45 today.

Anyone have any ideas why he doesn't regularly start for the U19's? Other than the odd cameo i haven't seen much of Edwards, but i keep up with this thread and the way he's rated here you'd think he be among the first names on the team sheet for an U19 match?
