Edwards was just instrumental in setting up a goal to go one ahead.

Over hit corner which he controlled very deep on the opposite side of the box with a good touch. Turned sharply - squared up a defender- took him on the outside and picked out a simple pass (good awareness) instead of just hitting the ball across the goal before the ball eventually found it's way in to the net...

Beat his man with ease and had the awarness to pick out an England player in a crowded box.

Can see Edwards being good for us off the bench for 10-15 mins as an impact player, as he provides something different to anyone we have. Also a good way to integrate him in the team. Shame he'll miss a big chunk of pre-season with this tournament.

Dammit though Sessegnon just has that knack of being in the right place at the right time in the box like Dele.

I hope we're still working on him for next summer.

I'm really concerned with the Edwards situation.i've no inside knowledge but from what we have seen we don't tend to play players that are in the last year of their contracts.if marcus won't sign a new contract due to game time it seems abit chicken and egg. I want to see the kid given a chance early in the season from the bench.maybe the club could agree with him that if he gets 10 matches it triggers an extension or something which suits both parties.

Biggest thing that stalled Marcus progress were the back to back injuries. I'm sure he would've featured towards the end of the season but he was out with an injury. All we can do is support him and hope he makes the best decision. All he has to do is look at our current team and see how many English players have improved under Poch. We can't force him to stay if he doesn't buy into what Poch is trying to instill. It would suck to lose him but I don't see Poch being held ransom to his demands ( if this was the case).

rightly or wrongly i don't think he has the patience to wait until he's 20/21 to break through, he wants to start playing now. i hope he stays but i'd say it's probably 50/50(no lemar pun) right now.

yeah. I like to think of it as him staying for another year before going us. I always would of left him in the championship for another year anyway
We had our chance and its most likely gone now imo

The fact he wasnt allowed to sign for liverpool and that the other options weren't viable, that gave us a big advantage. Now we will have to fight just to speak to him

He will play .he was traveling with 1st squad before injury to CL games.you aren't gonna do that to a kid for 2 years before you give him a game.can see him dove tailing with eriksen like winks Has with dembele .getting 20 mins some games .And cup games.

Club will not want to loose him, he is one of the missing pieces in the squad.

Edwards is a fantastic sub to have on bench. Can do something special like he did today, and make a goal from nothing.Even after the goal he tried something outrageous on edge of box and went between 2 defenders, unfortunately was a 3 rd covering defender.but it's edge of the seat stuff.Only other spurs player that does that to me is Kane when gets ball like 25 yards out and you can see he's gonna have a crack.

Watched the last 20 minutes or so on a crappy youtube feed, tbh it's more of very bad positioning from Netherland's no.13 than Edwards' brilliance - he did enough to go past him that's all. Checked also to see if there's any prior interaction between them to make no.13 gave Edward so much space and respect but no, as that's pretty much Edward's first touch that mean something. It's probably just him being tired/mistake.

He didn't do much wrong though as he's in the lead and don't get to see him do much at all actually. Hopefully we get to see more of him the next game.

But he's not going to get near the first team unless he signs a new deal, and he may not want to sign a new deal while he's not getting near the first team.

He could have been in the bench at the end of the season or even gone on the end of season tour to HK, instead players like Sterling and Lesniak were taken.

Our website is updated. This year intakes are still missing though.

Interesting that Scott Parker is u18 head coach and Matt Wells is his assistant. Do we swap position between Wells and Cochrane? I remember Wells was with U23.

I wouldn't be super calm, until he's signed up who knows what might happen. The last couple of years we've lost Azzaoui and then Kirby for example, plus we know the clubs stance on players who are running down their contract. Anything is possible.
