Mount been superb today tbf

Anonymous first half, dreadful set pieces again. England have benefited from huge gaps in the Germany defence since the first goal, which was pretty generous. Sessegnon has been England's best player by a mile.

Sessegnon was anonymous first half bar a 5 min spell.
Mount has run this game for us especially second half.

Tottenham have signed U16 midfielder Chay Cooper from Southend United.

Not overly familiar with this lad. If he's joining our first year intake then the group is massive, 17 by my count. If he's joining next year's then that is going to be a pretty hefty group as well, with another 16/17 lads currently in serious contention.

Edit: Seems he is currently with Southend's U15s so he will indeed be joining our U16 group and will be playing up front in competition with Irish lad Troy Parrott & England international Enoch Asante.

Mount looks like an intelligent player. I can really see why Edwards can't get in the team.

not sure that's really fair if you haven't seen edwards properly though(apologies if you have). also, it's not just mount, there's buckley-ricketts too who is little more than a one-dimensional winger putting in a sissoko shift. i know everyone will want to read into these line ups and conclude that edwards obviously isn't that good but we'll see where these players are in the next couple of years.

I'm not knocking Edwards, i'm aware of his qualities, but for the number 10 spot I can understand why the coach has gone with Mount as he seems more in the Eriksen mould compared to Edwards more direct dribbling. Although, you're right, i'm surprised there isn't space for Edwards in one of the wide positions.

Honestly between mount and Edwards I'd rather have Edwards.I think he has much more potentially. You have to remember it's 5 games in 13 days if we win it.So I guess they will rotate as much as possible.wouldnt be surprised if Edwards starts in the semi.

he won't be starting, may as well accept it now rather than get disappointed. could still have a part to play off the bench though if they're struggling to break the opposition down like the other day against holland. i said before the tournament started that he'd probably be better off staying home and getting a good pre-season in with us(as long as it was with the first team) but i guess you could argue that being part of a successful squad could be of some benefit to him, even if he's not playing a key role like in previous tournaments.

How on earth is Edwards still on the bench but Mount starts again? Absolute waste of space against the Netherlands.

I like Mount, I think he's one of the better players out there, what I don't like is Buckley-Ricketts getting picked ahead of him just because he's more robust.

Edwards did more creatively in 10 minutes in the last game than BR did in the previous 80.

Where did you see that?

I can't remember now. Is he not? Thought I'd read it somewhere, plus I can see him in an England kit in my head. If I'm wrong nevermind.

According to this, we signed him two years ago.

Not as far as I know. England call ups I know from that age group are Maghoma, Bowden, Oluwayemi, Binks and White.

Cheers mate but we were discussing whether he'd played for England

I think the England managers mind set was very negative today. He knew a point would do.I think the 2nd sub after 15 mins was a defender for a midfielder.Anyways hoping he will feel more confident on weds.We are clearly the favs to win now.
